In the final two periods they just stood around and watched as the Irish completely dominated the play. • Lucan fired 25 shots at Centenaire goalie Keith McClure h the second frame and came up with three unanswered goals to take.a 5-4 lead after two periods. In the third frame the Irish out -scored the Centenaires 2-1 as they peppered McClure with ap additional 23 drives. McClure was the only bright spot for the Centenaires as he faced a total of 61 shots. (with most of the.. being good scoring chances) and kept Irish from running the score into double ures. n en . - on the other hand had 31' shots on Lu goalie Bart Powell. Exeter came back just over a minute later with two goals within a span of a minute and 20 seconds to cut the Centenaire lead to 5-3. Dave'McLlwain notched his second of the game toput the Centenaires once again into a three goal lead. but the Hawks kept applying pressure and before the period ended. got goals from Rick Lather and Bill Glover to cut the Centenaire lead to 6-5 leading into the third period. Exeter held a 16-9 advantage in shots on,gcal during the period. In the th'ir'd stanza. the hawks once again took command and at 6:34 tied the game on Jones's second goal. With the Centenaires' Jim Campbell in the penalty box for a slashing infraction, the Hawk power play ueit went to work and just 33 seconds later. Glover fired his second of the game to give the Hawks the lead for the first time. At this point it looked like the Hawks were going to add to their output but goalie Macdonald was equal to the task by coming up with several glorifying saves. Bantams defeat Wingham BYGARY GRAY 'a The Seaforth Bantam hockey team over- came a 4-3 second period deficit with straight gads to earn a hard fought 6-4 victory over Wingham last Tuesday night in Seaforth. Seaforth opened the scoring early in the first period when Blair Beuerman scored with assists going to Ron Pryce and Brian Dupuis. Wingharn carne back to tie the score just 30 seconds later with Jim English scoring his first of two goals. Seaforth then scored two goals in just over two minutes to take a 3-1 lead. Pat Murray scored the first goal with Ron the Ione assist and Mike BettiesPryce notcheddrawing his first of two with Terry Gray assisting on the lay. Mike Betties tied the score at 4-4 after being set up by Brad Beuttenmiller and Dave Akey. BeuttenmIIUerthen scored what turned out to be the winrl2 r�with Mike Battles and Terry Gray drawing assists. Kevin Cooper fired the sixth Seaforth goal with Terry Gray ' and Mike Betties assisting.
