The annual Christmas Ladies' Night.
sponsored by the Father Stephen Eckert
Council of Seaforth, was held on Thursday.
Dec. 15 in the council rooms at St. Columban.
Following the general meeting. chaired by
Grand Knight, Bro. Dennis Rau. a social was
enjoyed. During the general meeting the
usual draws were made with prizes awarded
to door prize. Bro. Dick McKay; Bros. Geo.
Sweeney and Brian Crowley won the
Lecturer's draws; Share -the -Wealth draw
went to Francis Denomme, Zurich, for SI36:
two S25 consolation prizes went to Paul Van
Bakel and Mary Moylan.
The Msgr. D.J. Egan Assembly 4th Degree
Knights of Columbus also held their annual
Christmas draws with the fallowing winnnrs-
Hoggart and ushers were Nancy Penfound,
Karen Wright, Robbie ftadford and Larry
Hoggart. Colin Swan welcomed all and gave
announcements.
Next Sunday morning . will be the

The highlight of the evening was the arrival
of Santa Claus, who before giving out
presents to the ladies, enjoyed several

dances. The ladies received a gift
chocolate bar. Dancing during the evening
was followed by a smorgasbord lunch.

The junior choir sang two anthems with
Barb Bosman as choir director and Lisa
Duirer, organist.
After a dinner, a sing song was held with
Barb Bosman at the piano, and a visit from
Santa Claus who gave each child a gift.
At 8 p.m. the Ecumenical community
Christmas service was held in Londesboro
U.C. sponsored by the Blyth and district
ministrial association. Greeters were Gordon
Shobbrook and Bert Lyon. ushers , were
Cheryl Bromley. Connie Hoggart. Larry
Hoggart and Rob Radford. There were eight
churches participating - two from Auburn -
four from Blyth. Walton and Londesboro.
The offering of 5140 will be divided
between the Huron County Family and
Childrens service and the home for battered
women.

The Londesboro Leos held a successful
party for londesboroarea youngsters. About
30 youngle enjoyed games, refresh-
rnentsand as,they were entertained by
the Leo clu while their moms acid dads were
busy shopping or otherwise occupied.
At 3130 p.m. Santa arrived with it hearty
Ho Ho Ho and everyone received a
me -Christmas bigof goodies and sat on
Santa's knee to express their Christmas
wishes,
The Berean Unit Christmas meeting was
held Dec. 6 at 12:30 in the church and dinner
was enjoyed by the 11 members present.•

Edmund Godkin, 80. of Clinton, formerly
of McKillop Township. died Tuesday, Dec.
13 at Clinton Public Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Ida, four daugh-
ters, (Ilene, Mrs. Murray Dennis, of RRI
Walton; Audrey, Mrs. Lloyd Beuermann, of
RR3 Mitchell; Merle, Mrs. James Burns, of
Sarnia and Lois. Mrs. Glen Sinclair of Essex.

Lavern. of RR1 Walton, one step -daughter,
Joan, Mrs. Donald Bell and .• William
McClinchey, both of Clinton, 19 grandchild-

Falconer Funeral Home. Clinton on Thurs-
day, Dec. 15. , Spring burial will be in
Maitlandbank Cemetery. Seaforth.

KENNETH ASHTON
Kenneth Lloyd Ashton. 81. of Brussels
died Nov. 28 at the Wingham and District
Hospital.
Son of the late George Ashton and Martha
Wilson, he is predeceased by two brothers
and four sisters. Surviving are one sister-in-
law. Mrs. Lilly Ashton. of Listowel and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Brussels
Chapel, M.L.' Watts Funeral Home on Nov.
30 with Rev. Chas. Carpentier officiating.
Interment Fordwich Cemetery.
DELLA FERGUSON
Della Ferguson, formerly Della Whitely,
97, died Nov. 24 in Edmonton.
She is predeceased by her husband, W.G.
Ferguson in 1971 and one brother, Dr.
Leonard Whitely. of Gorrie.
Surviving are one son. Arthur, of
Windsor. one daughter, Mrs. Leon Ferguson
of Edmonton, two grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Gerrie
Cemetery Chapel on Dec. 9 with Rev. Lloyd
Martin .officiating. interment Gorrie Ceme-

Barbara Cochrane Inglis. 84, of How•ick
Township. died Monday. Dec. 12 at the
Extendicare Nursing Home, Sudbury.
Daughter of the late Thomas Inglis and
Margaret Bell. she is survived by three
brothers, Jim, of R.R.1, Clifford, John, of
Toronto and Will, of Walkerton and one
sister. Nellie, Mrs. George Bufelt. of
Sudbury.

Chapel, M.L. Watts Funeral Home with
Rev. Ralph Knock officiating. interment

Mina Baker, of Brussels died Friday Dec.
16 at the Seaforth Community Hospital.
Daughter of the late Peter Baker and Jane
Victoria Menary, she is survived by one
sister. Mrs. Elizabeth Martin. of Milton and
one niece. Mrs. Brenda Brown, of Milton.
