- they handed the Thedford Browns a 9-3
drubbing at the local arena.
A good crowd Watched as the Centenaires
Jumped into a 44 firstperiod lead. Thedford
ou toyed the •Centenilires for most of the
pe od but were foiled'by Seaforth goaltender
Mike Macdonald on several good scoripg
chances. The Browns .outshot the Cente-
naires 15-10 in the period.
Themiddle framesaw the Centenaires take
complete control as 'they outshot their
opposition 17-7. Both teams managed two
goals apiece in:the period with the Cente-
naires scoring the first two to give them a
brief 6 1 Iead.
The rd came out strong in the third
period controlled the play for the first 10
minutes ut came up empty on goals as
Macdon d again came up with several saves.
The Centenaires put the game out of reach
with three goals within a span of a minute and
twenty-one seconds just past the middle point
of the period. Thedford once again outshot
the Centenaires, this time by a 12-9 margin.'
On the game the Centenaires held a 36-34
edge on shots on goal.
The line of Dean Westinan, Jeff Pauli and
Murray Guy paced the Centenaires offence as
they accumulated 12 points between the
three of them.

The Seaforth Centenaires turned in their -
best performance ofthe season Sunday night
in Port Stanley as they overcame a.3-1 deficit
early in the second period to post a convincing
9-3 victory over the Lions.
The two teams were tied 1-1 after the first
period with Port Stanley scoring first and the
Centenaires coming back with a goal by Bob
Snell assisted by linemates Greg Murray and
Dave McLlwain.
The Lions came out roaring in the middle
' frame and by the five minute mark of the
period had jumped into a 3-1 lead and looked
like they were going to.blow the Centenaires -
out of the game. At 8:04 of the period a fight
erupted between the Centenaires defence- 1[ v W �On
man Doug Sykes and Reid of the Lions. The U 11
end result was Sykes getting an extra four
minutes to make the Centenaires shorthand-
ed.
Just 30 seconds later the Centenaires
penalty killing duo of Darrin Watts and Dan
Wesenberg combined for a shorthanded goal
as Watts made a perfect pass to Wesenberg
who wasted no time in blasting the puck
through the pads of Lions goaltender Ray
Gowan..
Brussels Burs spli games against Southampton
This past weekend the Brussels Jr. D. nal 2 / minutes
Bulls played a home and away from home
series with the Southampton'Mariners.
On Friday in Southampton, the Bulls were
beaten 6 to 4.
In the first period the Bulls looked as if they
might handle the Mariners easily but sharp
goaltending by Mark Harwood of Southamp-
ton held the Bulls to one goal by Todd
Wheeler and a 1-1 tie.
In second period the Bulls jumped into a 2
to 1 lead on a goal by Kevin Wheeler only to
have the Mariners tie the score late in the
period.
Early in the third period the Bulls came out
fired upand took a quick two goal lead with
„goals from Rob Cardiff and Todd Wheeler.
