While in Orillia I read an
article cut from an English
newspaper pertaining to a
memorial service held in a
South Coast town for those
who died at Dieppe. To those
who lost sons or husbands in
that action the people of
England have not forgotten
the sacrific that Canadian
soldiers made.
At the going down of the
sun and in the/ morning we
will remembet them.

Katimavik teach conservation
BY PAT LEHTONEN
Greetings readers. Anoth-
er participant has volun-
teered to work diligently with
a pen and paper in order to
acquaint the citizens of Sea -
forth with Katimavik.
Most people are aware that
in Katimavik we earn a dollar
a day. Upon learning this
many people believe that we
"Katimavictims" are naive
and somewhat susceptible to
indoctrination. However, it is
the common conviction that
an excess of money is not
necessary to live a healthy
and rewarding existence
which brings .together in
Katimavik a group of open-
minded youths.
Our dollar a day is earned
like any other salary in that
we work an average eight
hour day with the standard
breaks. One major difference
is that all the work is for
non-profit organizations.
Work that normally would not
get completed due to lack of
funds or lack of volunteers is
completed by our work crews.
