I'm one of the many Katimavik participants now living in your friendly • town. Since eoming here 1 have (as our recruitment poster is quick to point out) "made many new friends and overcome many challenges... I have noticed that Katimavik members en- joy a special status in Sea - forth. Many a time I am out walking when a car horn blasts and everyone is wav- ing at me, all because' of niv green and orange Katimavik button. • • I've been here one month and already I've worked at a million different jobs. What do you think was the hardest thing for me to learn? It wasn't learning how to paint.. It wasn't learning how to do farm work. It wasn't even learning how to bounce out of bed just as the sun was waking up. No, my problem wasn't that simple. My prob- lem was learning how to cook. Now don't laugh. For a city boy growing up with all the luxuries of home, like frozen pizzas, t.v. dinners and canned beans, learning to cook from scratch can be quite a harrowing experi- ence. Especially when you have twelve howling animals (my Katimavik buddies) ready •to burn you at the stake if you ruin their supper. Yes, in Katimavik I'm learning a million different Rade iha things, and thank God there are many people out there willing to help me or 1'd be totally lost. plain from speaks in Hensall Corresppendent BERTHA M eGRZGOR 262-2025 Rev.
