Phone 527-0270 Manor residents hear junior choir's cantata Residents at Seaforth Manor vlere privileged on Tuesday evening to hear the Cantata "The Runaway" sung by the Junior Choir of Northside United Church un- der the direction of Mrs. Audrey McLlwain and Mrs. Margaret Whitmore accom- panist. Rev. James Vanslyke was narrator and Mr. Robertson accompanied on the clarinet. Audrey is to be complimented for the fine performance by the choir. Unit 1 were the visiting group in charge of the pro- gram with Mrs. Marion Gordon chairlady. Birthdays of the month were recognized and happy birthday sung. Also best wishes from the group to Mr. and Mrs. Robt. McClure who will be cele- brating their 62nd wedding anniversary on June 29. Re- freshments were served and Mr. Sidney Pearson thanked those in charge. A sing song was also enjoyed with resi- dents choice of songs; Several events are planned at Seaforth Manor for the O.N.H.A. Heart Jamboree June 20 -June 26. Special Olympics will be June 21 with Junior Volunteers while on Wednesday June 22 Open House, Tea, Bake Sale and Flea Market will be held. Worship service was held on Wednesday afternoon with Mr. David McKnight of Egmondville United Church in charge Miss Eva Lambert accompanied at the piano for the hymns. ' As David is leaving the Egmondville Church in the near future this, was his farewell sermon to residents at Seaforth Manor. He had brought three beautiful red rosr:s with him which he dedicated in loving memory of the late Doris Wills who died in Seaforth Community Hospital earlier in the week a id also to all the other residents who were deceased diring his ministry. Mr. Wayne Hedges read a card of thanks to David and Miss Ila Gardner and Sid Pearson presented him with a gift on behalf of the residents, wishing him well in whatever cause he chooses. Mrs. Anne Helm, P.O.C. and Mr. Cliff Thornton, administrator join- ed residents for the service and also refreshments after. A,picpic barbecue was held on the patio on Thursday for noon lunch followed by the June resident council meet- ing held outdoors for the first time. Residents voted to have our next one outdoors also weather permitting. Happy birthday to Mr. Cornelius Rumig who cele- brated his 80th birthday on Wednesday. Joining him on Sunday for a family picnic were his wife, Mrs. C. Rumig also members of his family including: Ron, Linda and Robin Rumig of Waterloo; Carol, Bill and Kim Ransom of Kitchener; Joe and Doro- thy Yosurack of Waterloo; Mike and Carita Yosurack also of Waterloo; Carl and Dorothy, Romig of Waterloo; Rick. Sandra, Amy and Eric Geisel of Kitchener; Helen and Cluff Bolduc of Waterloo; John, Brenda, Cam and An- drew Kempel of Waterloo; Louis, Barbara, Joanne and Cheryl Rumig of Waterloo; Richard and Pat Golbeck of Waterloo; Don, Betty, Derek and Darryl Geisel of Water- loo. Joan attended St. James' Separate School and Seaforth District High School and is the daughter of Frank Sills and the late Dinah Sills.
