Continued from page 10 "Listen and try to con- sider" Sally Walker urged members of Huron -Perth Presbytery of the United Church. The Goderich dele- gate was one of a team of clergy and laypersons • who answered Listowel minister, John Anderson's expression of frustration Mrs. Walker, Don Kobe, Grand Bend and Rev.,Ander- son in reporting for the group outlined what they felt were shortcomings in Presbytery procedures and then went on to propose a number of solutions for consideration. They had met not to criticize, said'' Mr. Anderson but to share ideas and perhaps share improvements. One of the key proposals was more meetings, some in the form of workshops in -order that more intelligent .decisions could be made with better follow-up. Should Presbytery be di- vided, was a question asked by the group. Are there too many issues? Should there be a more spiritual tone, more celebration and more educa- tion? t Getting to know one ano- ther was suggested as another priority as well as orientation for new dele- gates. It was indicated that there was a Targe gap be- tween Presbytery and the local congregations. As a result of the ad hoc committee's deliberations the executive was asked to review with the committees the functions of the court and report recommendations in the fall. REMIT ON INITIATION The Presbytery took action to study the United Church's first remit since the United Church was formed in 1925. are proud of the touring pros we have, Nelford, Halldor- son, Barr, and on the ladies' tour Post, Sherk and recent additions Ellis and Bunkow- sky.
