ALLAN MCCALL 887.6677 Walton Women's institute was held Wednesday evening in the community hall. For the Agriculture and Canadian Industries meeting convenor, Mrs. Viola Kirkby had as guest speaker Bruce McCall of Brussels who has been in Brussels for 13 years when he purchased the Brus- sels Sales Barn. He said it was his greatest privilege to be born and raised on a farm and to be involved around agriculture. He said the insti- tute plays a big part in the back bone of Agriculture. There were 16 members and four guests present. An invitation was accepted from , the Ethel W.I. to attend their 80t nniversary celebration on Tuesday February 1. Mrs. Kirkby gave the mot- to: "Be proud of your farm heritage and have faith in the future '. After reading poems Mrs. Kirkby -conducted a tree contest while lunch was being served by Mrs. Nelson Reid, Mrs. Gerald Watson, Mrs. Herb Traviss and Mrs. Ken McDonald. EUCHRE HELD There were six tables of euchre in play on Tuesday evening at the comntunity hall. Prize winners were for high lady -Mrs. Annie Reid, low - Mrs: J. Simpson, high man - Ernie Stevens, low -Lawrence Ryan; special -Mrs. Leona McDonald. Hostesses were Margery Huether, Valerie Shortreed, Lavina Watson and Viola Kirkby. PERSONALS, Kevin Fothergill returned home trom University Hospi- tal, London Jan. 27 after having hip surgery for re- moval of a steel plate, Mr. and Mrs. Bev. 'During the cooking period the girls held the election of the officers.
