Dietary department provides nutrition
The Dietary Department provides
nutritious (and according to all reports
- delicious) meals for the patients and
staff of the Seaforth Community
Hospital. It also provides meals for the
community through a Meals on Wheels
program. These meals are delivered
daily, Monday through Friday, around 5
p.m., and enable shut-ins in the com-
munity to have a well balanced meal.
All meals are prepared and cooked as
needed by the dietary staff, which con-
sists of two full time, seven part-time
and one casual person. The Dietary
department follows an 18 -day menu cy-
cle, which allows patients to choose the
foods they like.
The cafeteria seats 20 people and is
usually full between noon and 1 p.m.,
when staff and visitors are welcome to
eat. Approximately 20 to 30 meals are
seved at noon, with 10 to 15 at dinner,
Food Supervisor at the Seaforth
hospital is Rose McMaster. Hired in
December 1979 she took over the Super-
visor's position in 1983. Mrs. McMaster
holds a certificate in cooking and is a
member of the CFSSA.

Noakes, Elsie Doig, Laurie Dolmage,
Linda Allin, Velma Preszcator, Frances
Teatero, Janice Finlayson, Mary
Catherine Schwarz, Sheila Schenck and
Jennifer Hugill.

Director educated on laundry technology
Jack Bedard has worked in the
Seaforth Community Hospital's
Housekeeping Department since begin-
ning work at the local hospital in 1973.
At that time he was employed as Laun-
dry Manager and Machine Operator.
Since then he has taken subsequent
courses in Laundry Technology and
Organization, and in 1982 took a course
in Hospital Housekeeping Supervision.
Mr. Bedard was named Director of
Housekeeping and Linen in 1984.
