As Director of Pharmacy, Yvette Bin-
nendyk is responsible for all aspects of
the medication system within the
Seaforth Community Hospital, including
purchasing, distribution, usage and con-
trol of all pharmaceutical preparation.
Employed as a general duty registered
nurse with the hospital since 1965, Mrs.
Binnendyk has been Director of Phar-
macy since 1974.
As a member of the pharmacy,
therapeutics and intravenous committee,
as well as the medication administra-
tion review committee, it is possible for
Mrs. Binnendyk to serve as liaison bet-
ween physicians and nursing staff at the
hospital.
She recognizes that medication educ-
tion is an important part of high-quality
health care, and notes that the Seaforth
Community Hospital supplies medication
profiles to its patients upon discharge.
These profiles are also available upon
request to anyone interested, by calling
the Seaforth Community Hospital Phar-
macy Department.
