approach
The Nursing Department of the
Seaforth Community Hospital operates
two major divisions - Am-
bulatory/Emergency and In -Hospital
treatment facilities - and consists of
Registered Nurses, Registered Nursing
Assistants, Ward Clerks, and Secretarial
Staff.
It provides an essential, unique ser-
vice by helping others to actualize their
potential, and utilizes a holistic ap-
proach to identify patients' needs
(physical, emotional, social, spiritual
and educational) and plans care
accordingly.
The Nursing Department also assists
patients to make informed choices con-
gruent with their own beliefs and value
systems; coordinates care with other
members of the Health Team in order
to maximize the patients' quality of life;
and places a high value on Continuing
Education to keep abreast of the many
technological changes now occurring in
medicine.
As a supplement to patient care, the
Nursing Department also coordinates
specialized care giving for its patients.
