To date, $756 223.42 has been raised
for the Seaforth Community Hospital
Building Fund, through the generosity
of individuals and organizations alike.
The Fundraising Campaign had its 'of-
ficial kick-off on March 28 and now, one
week before the ribbon -cutting
ceremony at the Seaforth Community
Hospital addition, the Fundraising Com-
mittee is close to its original goal of
$900 00O.
Merlin Vincent, Chairman of the Fun-
draising Committee, mobilized a force
of 330 canvassers and captains early in
March for a two-week long door-to-door
blitz. The canvass covered Seaforth and
the Townships of McKillop,
Tuckersmith, and Hulled along with
portions of Morris, Grey . Logan and
Stanley Townships. As of March 29, the
Building Fund stood at $100 000. When
results of the canvassing campaign
were officially talked at the beginning
of June, $547 955.55 had been added to
the coffers
The canvass target was for 1 200
nonies to aonate the "magic number"
of 68 cents a day over the next three
years to reach the $900 000 target, and

MARLEN VINCENT incites fundraisers
On behalf of Seaforth Town Council and the
residents. the community and I extend congratula-
tions to the Seaforth Community Hospital Board and
the Fund-raising Volunteers on the official opening
of the expansion of the emergency and outpatient
departments.
The hospital expansion is a reminder for all of us
that visions can be realized and once again the peo-
ple of Seaforth have come through.
