Seaforth had increased by 66 in the past
year. Seaforth's population now stands at

were more dogs than that running loose in
his corner of town. Replied Mr. Ament,
brother Patrick McGrath of Dublin: and
several nieces and nephews,
She was predeceased by her husband;
and by two brothers, Edward and Michael
(Mickey) McGrath.

Catholic Church in Seaforth. Burial was in

country was arming for a life and death

The Regent Theatre in Seaforth was
showing "Dark Victory" with Bette Davis,
"..the greatest actress of our time." Com-
ing attractions were "Gunge Din" and
"Wuthering Heights".
OCTOBER 15, 1964
Completion of Huron's latest Develop-
ment Road No. 12 from Seaforth to
Highway 86 was opened at a short
ceremony in Brussels by Highway Minister
Charles McNaughton. It was believed that
the road would provide the shortest route
to northern Ontario and would encourage
traffic through the district. One of the
features of the road development was the
opening of the new $80,000 bridge spanning
the Maitland River.
In Ottawa, suggestions are being made
that Canada's smaller provinces merge in-
to larger units. Specifically, proposals were
made to the effect of merging the
Maritime provinces and Premier Bennett
is campaigning for B.C. to take over the
Yukon and the western chunk of the Nor-
thwest Territories. As well, Saskatchewan
would absorb Manitoba. "Don't look for
any sudden unity moves, but neither should
anyone write off the possibility that we
might have six instead of ten .provinces
before the end of the century."
Seaforth lost one of its most avid sport-
smen with the passing of Norman (Archie)
Hubert recently. A favourite with hockey
and baseball fans, he starred on a number
of Seaforth teams in both sports and was
a member of the Beavers when Seaforth
won an Ontario hockey championship in
the early forties.
Seaforth District High held its annual
Yearbook Dance and made a grand profit
of $7.15 for the yearbook coffers. Not a bad
showing, considering admission was a
whopping five cents.
SOMERVILLE
In loving memory of William R. Somerville, who
passed away October 15, 1958.
31 years have passed since that sad day,
When the one we loved was called away,
God took him home, it was His will,
But in our hearts he liveth still.
'Tis sweet to know we will meet again.
Where troubles are no more,
And that the one we love so well,
Has just gone, on before.
Lovingly remembered by his family. 40-41x1
