Mr. Lane, who has farmed for all his life, sowed 140 acres of the Monopl Red Wheat this year (less than in other years) and sato he expects a good yield, Rea wheat generally re- quires more care and upkeep than soft wheat, but pays more in diVidends. Mr. Lane said head disease is a common problem with red wheat, but noted this year the problem has been very minimal. "After a bit you get used to it. You know what to look for," he said BROS.
