Church holds annual parish picnic The St. James Annual Parish Picnic was held Sunday at the Lions Park, and was well attended. Many ladies helped to prepare a light lunch provided by the church. Father Caruana celebrated his birthday with beautiful cakes donated by the Catholic Women's League, and several adults and children participated in fun games, cards, tug-of-wars, and a ball game. Prizes were awarded. The oldest participant was Mary Nolan, 84, and the youngest was Evan Klaver, 2' months. Guessing games were won by Kris McNaughton and Peter Flanagan. Diane Heynsbergen's nine loonies in her purse won her a prize. Helen Van Bakel won the ladies' shoe kick and Andrew Devereaux ,won the mens'.
