UNIT 4 MEETS Unit 4 of Hensall U.C.W. met December 2. Mrs. Nan Britton presided. Mrs. Purdy gale the devotional and read the story of the wise men r found in Matthew 2nd chap- ter verses 1.11 followed by prilyer. Mrs. Shirley Luther took the study and used •as her theme the story of the shepherds as told in the gospel of St. Luke. Mrs. Luther and Nan Britton sang a duct "Oh the Wonder of it All." A request was received to drape the Charter in memory of Myrtle Russell, Past President International Association, Rebekah As- sembly.' A program was en- joyed with pianist Evelyn .MeBcath. Hazel Corbett gave two readings. Lois Jones favoured with Christmas piano selections. Guest speaker was Mrs." Linda Crcrar, who is employed with the Stratford Family Counsel: ling Service in Stratford, Perth County, in Adult Pro- tective• •Service Program. Lindagave a most interesting address on her work in this capacity and the real need. She was thanked and pre- sented with a gift by Bertha MacGregor. An exchange of gifts with "Secret Pals" followed with Elizabeth Riley and -Edith Bell doing the distribution. WHITE LOFT SERVICE "White Gift'' Sunday was observed on the Advent 2 Sunday in Carmel Presbyter- ian C'hurc'h. The auditorium of the Church was beautifully , decorated for the festive season by the members of the Arnold Circle Evening Circle. The Sunday School members were in attendance at the service. Rev. Kenneth Knight was in charge of the service and his sermon was on "Sharing". Miss Donna Taylor gave a reading" "The • Spirit of Christmas' . Miss Janet Hggarth read thc'Scrip- tu.re Luke 3. Verses 10-14 and led in prayer. Tammy Bell of the Sunday School gave a reading "It Is More Blessed To Give Than Receive." Everyone present- ed their "White Gifts'. Ron, Fleming, Bruceficld was guest soloist accompanying himself on the guitar. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be dis- pensed next Sunday Decem- ber 12 at 11:30 aim. Bill Stebbins was Gabriel bringing word to Mary and, Mary Jane Parsons was Mary with Travis Beaver as Joseph. Wayne Scotch'mer, Andy Philips and Chris Campbell were the shepherds with Peter Cook. Donald Wareing. and Rod Parker as the Wise Men. Kerri-Sue Kyle, Carrie Stuart, Victoria Bisback and Angela Gould played the part of the angels. Joyce Pepper was the pia- nist and Belva Fuss the organist. Tint Brock took a , solo section and Robert Gackstet- ter and Chris Gardener. as well as Mark Brock and David Stephens taking the duets, Dianne Stebbins took another solo part. Robert Gackstetter sang "Infant Holy" and. Belva Fuss "0 Come Enlmanual." The ushers were Dennis Martin, Ron Riley, Steven Corbett and Gary Kyle. Mary Kinsman greeted the congre- gation. The kindergarten of Ihe,$unday School opened the 'set -Vice with "The Message of Christmas" and showing the zEhrs fine markets.,, of fine foods letters spelt out Lose, Joy and Peace. The flowers at the front of the church were placed' in loving memory off Bert Hor- ton.
