The St. Patrick's Parish Hall was filled to capacity by ladies from the neighbouring churches. The executive had a well-planned evening beginning with a welcome from the President of the Catholic Women's League, Mrs. Mary Margaret Van Bakel. Father Carrigan. the parish priest. also greeted -everyone. The craft table, Yvhieh was well laden with a fine selection of hand -made articles was open Next on the agenda was a fashion show with Nancy L"aronc of Larone-Spittal in Seaforth as the commentator. Approximately 50 young children acted as models displaying the fine selection of clothes for fall and winter, supplied:by Larone's. Mari- lyn Horne, an employee of the Larone-Spittal store. de- scribed the hand sew n ap- parel which she made to display some of their fine quality fabric which they also carry in their store. The tots -to -teens and ladies who modelled are to be thanked Hildebrand Flow- ers, who supplied the lovely not, of mums which lined the walk way, Hetherington Shoes who supplied the foot- wear and Wm. Lori Lyn Stapleton sang and Lucille Delaney and Cathy Kelly sang two num- bers together, Mrs. Van Bakel thanked Nancy Larone and her staff Draws were made on th'e quilt which was won by Mrs. Roseanne Si- monson. the ceramic Christ- mas tree which was won by William Poppe and the cera - rine pitcher and basin was won by Mrs. Jean t=,roshgk. The door prizes were won by Mrs. Rika Van Bakel and Mrs. Cletus Crowley. In other draws. a large doll was won by Pieta Van Bakel. a small doll went to Mrs, Sharon Wol'fe of Mitchell, the decorated cake was won by Mrs. Mary Stapleton. the•old fashioned ham was won by Annie Poppe and the Pioneer jacket and toque was won by Alice Regan and Mrs. Mil- dred Cronin won the floral wall hangink, tnc lucky chair was won by Mrs. Mildred Cronin and the closest birthday went to Mrs. Cathy Meagher. The league executive expressed their appreciation to local busi- nesses NEW MEMBERS The Dublin Parish Council has three new members, Mrs. Julie Van Bakel, Miss Joan Schoonderwoerd and Leon Louwagie.
