Seaforth and Kenneth Empey, sod of Mrs. Christena Empey of RR2 Auburn and the late William Empey were married Sept. 4. 1982 in Northside United Church. Rev. J.G. Vanslyke officiated. Jean Dow of Cromarty. a friend 'of the bride. was maid of honour and bridesmaids were Margie Eckert, a friend and Diane Gilliland, a sister.of the bride. GFoomsmah was Glen Naylor of Winnipeg, Manitoba, a friend of the groom and ushers were Bill Empey, brother of the groom and Jim Finlayson brother of the bride. Tom Burke was soloist and Margaret Whitmore organist for the ceremony. Following a reception at Seaforth Legion Hall, the couple left on a wedding trip to Northern Ontario. Belgrave on Saturday.. August 14th. as marriage vows were ex- changed between Doreen Louise Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Ross Anderson, Belgrave and Robert Charles Roy, son of Mr, and Mrs.- Neil Roy, Mississauga. Rev. Rea Grant of Wingham United Church performed the double -ring ceremonx. Music prior to the 4:30 p.m. ceremony was played by cellist Roger Chen. Mississauga. and organist Mrs, Judy Morton, Bclgrave. who also accompanied the soloist Mrs, Marianne Hogan, Lucknow. Mrs. Nancy Ball of Hanover, sister of the bride was the maid of honour and bridesmaids we're Sheila Anderson of Bclgrave, sister of the bride and Janice Dunbar of Belgrave, friend of the bride. Kevin Roy of Burlington, brother of the groom was the hest man and guests were ushered by Darrell Roy of Mississauga, brother of the groom and Dave Dykeman of London, friend of the groom. A reception was held in Blyth Community Centre where Richard Anderson, London, brother of the bride was master of ceremonies. Wedding guests were present from Wisconsin, Sarnia, London, Missis- sauga, Milton, Schomberg, Brucefteld, Blyth, Brussels and the Belgrave area. An honoured guest was the groom's grandmother Mrs. E. Roy of Victoria Harbour. The couple' will reside in Lakefield where the groom is employed by the Peter- borough Board of Education to teach music to grades seven through 12. Both the bride and groom are grad- uates in music from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to the wedding showers were held for Doreen by Mrs. Ann Dykeman of 'London for university friends, Miss Janice Dunbar of Belgrave for school friends and a community shower in the Belgrave institute Hall. Over 15 quilts were made with 50 ladies supporting the group. The Stitchers plan to continue with their project and invite any who wish to donate their time.
