Dated at Seaforth. this 12th day of August, 1982. McCONNELL, STEWART, DEVEREAUX & SMITH Seaforth, Ontario Solicitors for the executor BY PATRICIA RIMMER The weather seems to be a big part of many conversat- ions this month. People can't get over how cold and rainy it's been in the last few weeks. The weather should be nice right until the, first week of schooQl, but oh no, it has to be chilly! There is'nt much we can do about the weather, in fact there is ' nothing we can do. If the weatherman decides that it is going to be miserable and cold on A weekend, as he has in the past, then we may as well get our sweaters ready. Having cold weather at the end of August isn't unusual at all but you would think that after all of the cold rainy days we had in June and a few bad days in July, we would get nice weather now to make up for lost time. Speaking of lost, time, don't you think that it is only fair that for every miser- able day that we had during our holiday. we get a nice Fall day away from school? It only seems right to me! Unfortun- ately it doesn't work that way. The bad weather is espe- cially annoying now when ADO NOTICE TO CREDITORS In the Estate of MATILDA JANE DUNN ALL PERSONS having claims against the estate of Matilda / Jane Dunn, late of the Town of Seaforth in the County of Huron. deceased, who died on the 26th day of,July 1982, are hereby notified to send in full particulars of their claims to the undersigned on or before the 23rd day of Sep- tember, 1982, after which date the assets will be distri- buted having regard only to claims then received. Even if the game is still played, sliding around after a ball in left field can be just a wee bit frustrating. • The baseball players put up with a lot from the weather. but what about the loyal fans who sip on the bleachers, their noses run- ning. feet cold, and hair drenched, cheering on their favourite team? It is.far from fun! PLEASURE? 1 had the pleasure of watching a baseball game in the rain last Sunday night. Sure. any sensible person would have stayed indoors where it was warm and watch the.baseball game on TV,• but believe me, 1 wasn't the only fan watching the game. Act• ually it was quite funny watching people and what they did to keep warm and dry. Many people wore either raincoats or more appropriate was.' a nice warm winter jacket. There were several umbrellas to be seen through- out the bleachers, plus mit- tens and even a sheet off plastic which was thrown over the heads of a few spectators. Actually, it gave us some- thing to complain about So 1 •guess it wasn't so bad. The first game went on as sche- duled and was fairly close. The second game began and as the players ran around in the mud from base to base, the umpires began to wonder if maybe it was raining and a - little too wet to play. It was about time! The game was called off until Monday night whep the two teams met again under nicer weather conditions and had a very good game. CONFUSING This weather is kind of confusing. One may be 'dres- sed prepared for very cold weather and sweat the whole night. More likely it would go the other way but there are possibilities. You can't really plan anything with this kind of weather. If you were to plan a picnic or family re- union, chances are you would need to book a hall or large house as well as a park just in case it rains. Why do we bother com- plaining about the weather? Not everyone is satisfied with any type. Take for example someone wbrking at a golf course. beach or swimming pool. Cold rainy weather means a holiday for them. But °'that same situation means a mother has to entertain her children instead of sending them to the pool or beach. 'Hot weather to a teenager means good weather to head to the beach or pool and have a good time. Hot weather is perfect for a lot of teenagers unless of course they have to cut the lawn or weed the garden. lin this case cold. miserable weather would be a perfect way out of a lousy job. A rainy w seg liFiTfine for a person working in an office but pretty lousy for the person in his office taking holidays that week. especially if that person is going camp- ing. It is hard to tell what the weather is going to be like and how people are going to react to it. School is just a few days away so it really doesn't matter what the weather is like. It would be nice to have a cool morning on Tuesday so that we can wear one of our new fall outfits to school. However, a nice sunny day would be acceptable.
