the team of Jim Watson, Ken
Cardno, Mike Marion and
Rod Doig came in third which
will'allow them to enter the
Provincial finals at Tdronto in
the middle of September.

Anyone who hasn't been in
the club rooms lately will
notice a difference when they
do so. We have a brand new
ceiling now with added lights
at the west end. I'm not sure
who all helped in the re-
novations besides Peter Mal-
colm, Jack Muir and Ken
Coombs•but a good job was
done and the room looks the
better for your efforts.
Thanks Comrades.

meet in Kitchener on June 26
following six practice ses-
sions at the high school
under the direction of Doug
Proctor and Mark Under-
wood.
Most of these are ele-
mentry school students with
limited experience and found
the competition rather tough
against city clubs who are
much more accustomed to
onmpetition.
Our most successful com-
petitors were Martin And-
reassi who placed first in
bantam discus and second in
shot put; John McCowan
who placed first in triple
jump and second in long
jump and in high jump; and
Brian Underwood who was
second in triple jump and
third in 3000 m.
Most others got al least
one ribbon for placing in tche
top six.
Martin Andreassi was cho-
sen to go to the Provincial
Legion meet in Ottawa on
July ' 1 7 by the District C
selection committee.
Since the meet in June.
Mark Underwood has con-
tinued to hold practices twice
a week for anyone interested
in anticipation of next year.
We would like to thank the
Legion for its support of the
Seaforth Legion Track and
Field club. This is the first
opportunity; for most of the
young athletes to compete in
a major competition and with
this experience and the en -
y yment they get from it, we
hope that they will continue in
this worth while activity.
Yours truly. Doug Proctor.
