Dubnal and ©Ix1c We're on summer schedule Correspondent JOAN CRONIN 345-V72 Another week is on by again and I like many cif you who may take a fleeting moment to glavwe at this cOlumn, will look back and wonder, what you accomp- lished over the past seven days. For me it was very little. I fall into the category under. "the huffier I go the behinder I get". When all the children are out of school. the daily routine becomes a lost art. The 8:00 a.m. breakfast be- comes the mid-morning brunch and the early to bed at 8:30 p.m. seems to have .anished from the face of the :lock „ .The forenoon is used to .ake the young ones ," to vw imming lessons. The after- noon one must catch up on the wash and 'dream up some- thing edible for supper and the evenings are well occu- pied with baseball. soccer or tennis or even a quick round of golf for dad. In the middle of all this activity someone always manages to take the knees out of his jeans. split the back of their trousers or pop a button on their shirt and of course it must be fixed immediately because they just can't find any others to wear. I sure wish someone would help them find their dresser and open the drawers, because all those "I can't find them" are right before their eyes. The weather this past week has been the answer to our prayers of January and Feb- ruary • better late than never - but this year we are getting everything in extremes. The winter was so lousy. it left the majority of people very de. pressed. Spring arrived and left US all soaking wet. Now that we are well into summer the sunshine has been turned on and I am sure that someone's thermostat is on the blink. The high humidity and soaring temperatures left many weary bodies and temp- ers very short. Some areas were then the recipients of severe thunder storms. hail and heavy rains which flat- tened a number of grain fields. The gardens are being fully utilized now as the beans. carrots, peas and other yegetables are ready to be picked. Peoples' flower beds are in full bloom and creating such beauty to their owner's grounds. Sights like th1•sssure make life worth living. ******vt The playground activities are proving to be a tremen- dous success for the little ones. Each day is filled with games, crafts and interesting things to do, The staff is to be commended for their good work. What fun it is to have Halloween Day in July and bob for apples on a 90 degree day. Miss Ann Janmaat of Sea - forth was the guest of honour at a bridal shower held on Sunday.
