It is the job of the Surface Transportation Co-ordinator to manage all of their customers domestic and cross-border transportation needs. The focus of the position will be to facilitate the co-ordination of all parties including customers, shippers, vendors and receivers to ensure the most efficient movement of product from origin to final destination. Responsibilities will include daily management of all customer files and communications, ensuring shipment milestones are complete & accurate in a timely fashion, loading arrangements, customs filing, tracking and tracing shipments, securement of shipment and transit details with highway, intermodal and rail carriers and document preparation/co-ordination. This position will communicate effectively with external vendors, suppliers and agents to facilitate the seamless movement of cargo while also working cohesively with other departments within the division. This position will also be required to carry an after hour's cell phone in order to meet the needs of our international customers. Post -secondary education is required. The ideal candidate must have strong computer and interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position requires an extremely customer service oriented individual that has the ability to multi task, prioritize daily requirements and work well independently.
