Clinton News Record, 2015-02-25, Page 7Wednesday, February 25, 2015 • News Record 7 Dave Flaherty/QMI Agency/For the News Record The Clinton Radars were defeated 5-3 at home on Friday night, allowing the Tillsonburg Thunder to complete a four game sweep of their first round playoff series. After scoring once in the first period, the Thunder grabbed a 2-0 lead early in the second period. However, the Radars tied it up with goals from Alex Avery and Deryk Whitehead. The two teams both scored again before the end of the period to knot the game at 3-3. The Thunder would score twice in the final frame to take the win and the series. As was most of series, it was a closely contested game. The Thunder's four wins were all by two goals or less, including a double -overtime win in the first game.
