An event scheduled for next
month will aim to help those
with developmental disabilities
realize they can achieve their
dreams.
Foundations Huron is host-
ing a motivational speaking
event on March 26 at 7 p.m. at
the Libro Community Hall, 239
Bill Fleming Dr. in Clinton.
According to coordinator
Katie Fox, Foundations Huron
is a non-profit organization
under the umbrella of Commu-
nity Living Central Huron,
which helps young adults with
developmental disabilities
make the transition from high
school to adult life.
The evening will feature Lau-
ren Potter, who portrays cheer-
leader Becky Jackson on the TV
show Glee.
Fox said organizers felt Potter
would serve as a great example
for their clients as she has faced
obstacles herself due to a devel-
opmental disability.
She said the fact that Potter
tried out to be a cheerleader in
high school and didn't make
the team but now is an actress
portraying one on television
proves that "we can all dream
big"
The evening will also feature
a speech from Danny Steeves, a
self -advocate from Listowel.
Musical guest KiSara from
Perth County will perform as
well.
Tickets are $10 and available
