People who buy their tick-
ets early for the gala charita-
ble 2015 Conservation Din-
ner have a chance to win an
Early Bird Draw Prize. Con-
servation Dinner Committee
Chairman Paul Anstett, of
the Exeter Lions Club,
announced that the 2015
Early Bird Prize is $200
worth of gift cards courtesy
of MacEwen Petroleum Inc.
Interested patrons should
buy their ticket by March 6
to be eligible for the Early
Bird Draw.
The Conservation Dinner
Committee Chair said there
are two strong reasons to
buy a ticket early. "The first
great reason to buy your
ticket early is that you can be
entered in a draw with a
chance to win $200 worth of
gas," said Anstett. "The sec-
ond great reason to buy your
ticket now is that the gala
dinner and auction usually
sells all tickets so you don't
want to miss out on the
chance to attend."
MacEwen Petroleum's
location in Exeter is 198 Main
Street North. Anstett thanked
MacEwen Petroleum for their
donation of this year's Early
Bird Prize of four $50 gift
cards, which can be used for
gas and in the C -Store.
The Conservation Dinner
Committee Chairman said
businesses and individuals
are very generous to the
annual charity event, donat-
ing more than 250 items
each year, including art,
sports and entertainment
memorabilia, jewellery, the-
atre, travel, dining, and rec-
reation items and packages,
and more.
The gala charitable dinner
and auction is to take place
on Thursday, April 16, 2015
at South Huron Recreation
Centre in Exeter. Tickets are
$65 each. Patrons receive a
charitable gift receipt, for
income tax purposes, for a
portion of that amount. To
purchase a ticket or to
donate to the 2015 Conser-
vation Dinner, phone 519-
235-2610 or toll-free 1-888-
286-2610 or email info@

tiondinner.com.
The annual gala features
live and silent auctions of art
and other distinctive items
including travel packages
and sports and entertain-
ment memorabilia. The
event also includes a special
raffle and general raffle.
There are many ways to win.
This dinner and auction was
started in 1990 and the Exe-
ter Lions Club joined as co-
partner in 1991. The net
profits are split 50-50
between conservation pro-
jects of the Foundation and
conservation projects of the
Exeter Lions Club.
The Conservation Dinner
has raised more than
$923,000 for community
projects over the past quar-
ter century. The year 2015
marks the 25th year that vol-
unteers from the Exeter
Lions Club will have co -
hosted the fundraiser in
partnership with Ausable
Bayfield Conservation Foun-
dation and the Conservation
Dinner Committee. The pop-
ular fundraiser supports
accessible trails; community
parks; conservation areas;
outdoor nature education
for children and youth; com-
memorative woods to
remember loved ones and
improve forest conditions;
recreation through fish
stocking and a family -
friendly fishing derby for the
young and the young at
heart; and more.
The dinner and auction
sells out all of its tickets
almost every year. There are
410 people who attend the
annual event.
