Lobb hosting passport clinic in Brussels
Huron -Bruce MP Ben
Lobb will be hosting a pass-
port clinic in Brussels on
Mon., April 13.
The clinic will be held at
Brussels, Morris and Grey
Community Centre (800
Sports Drive) from 6:30 to
8:30 p.m.
Staff will be available to
assist local residents in
either renewing or becoming
a first time passport holder.
Lobb's offices will courier
the passport applications
directly to Passport Canada.
Passport Canada applica-
tion forms can be picked up
at Lobb's constituency
office, your local post office,
or downloaded from Pass-
port Canada's website:
www.ppt.gc.ca

Lobb offers passport ser-
vices through both his con-
stituency offices.
Those who are unable to
attend the passport clinic are
invited to visit one of Lobb's
offices for passport
assistance.
For a first time adult
application, you must bring:
- A photocopy of both
sides of your driver's license
or government issued photo
ID with signature (Your
guarantor must sign and
date the photocopy)
- Your original birth certif-
icate (or Canadian Citizen-
ship Card)
- Two passport photos
- If you are applying for
your passport in an assumed
relationship surname that is
different from the name on
your birth or citizenship cer-
tificate, you must submit
your marriage certificate,
along with your birth or citi-
zenship certificate
Your guarantor must:
- Hold a valid passport
and have known you for two
years
- Sign your passport appli-
cation, the back of one of
your photos and sign and
date the copies of your gov-
ernment issued ID.
For a simplified renewal, all
you need is:
1) New photos
2) Current passport
For child passports, con-
tact Lobb's office in advance
as regulations have recently
changed.
Alice Munro Festival Short Story Competition now open
Local writers have the
opportunity to share their
craft with the world through
the Alice Munro Festival
Short Story Competition.
Now accepting entries
until April 15, the Short
Story Competition has been
in existence since 2003 fol-
lowing the opening of the
Alice Munro Garden in
Wingham. It was produced
annually as a collaborative
effort between North Huron
Horticultural Society, North
Huron Township Museum,
and Wingham Library.
In 2014, over 200 entries
were submitted from all
over Canada and the world;
finalists hailed from
Ontario, Prince Edward
Island, New York state, and
South Korea. Prizes are
$1500 for first prize adult
and $250 for two honoura-
ble nentions, and $500 for
first prize youth, $300 sec-
ond prize, and $200 third
prize. In 2015, the celebrity
contest judge is celebrated
Newfoundland author Lisa
Moore, author of Canada
Reads winner February and
short story collections
Degrees of Nakedness and
Open.
The Alice Munro Festival
of the Short Story has
grown out of the Alice
Munro Writers and Readers
Festival, taking place June 5
to 7 in Wingham and sur-
rounding areas.
Entries are accepted from
emerging non -published
writers in the youth (19
years old and younger) and
adult category. Short stories
must be 2500 words or less
and can be submitted
through the website at alice-
munrofestival.ca

Assessment Studies
The Municipality of Central Huron has invited the Nuclear Waste Management
Organization to host an open house.
Drop by, meet NWMO staff, ask questions and share your thoughts. Learn more
about Canada's plan for the long-term management of used nuclear fuel and the
process to identify a safe site to host a deep geological repository.
Come out and share your thoughts on the project and the current phase of work,
including desktop geoscience studies and community well-being learning now
underway.
