The resolution WAS presented by the
Hibbert Township council and Village of
Dublin trustees following a recent fatal
accident at the intersection. It was stated
that after each of four prior fatal accidents
had occurred at the corner representation
was made to the ministry of transportation
and communications for the installation. of

farmer lost his life in a collision of two trucks
the councils are again calling for lights to be
installed.
The school board is forwarding a copy of
the board's endorsement to James Snow,
Minister of Transportation and Communicat-
ions and the locai municipal councils.
A resolution from the City of Stratford was
endorsed by a narrow margin of 8 to 5. The
resolution caTis for the minister of education
to be petitioned to make changes so that
membership of boards of education more
adequately reflect student population and
• education taxes paid.
Board chairman Ronald Murray said he
didn't see how the resolution could affect the
board and left his chairman's seat to vote
against it.
The two Stratford trustees, Ronald Marcy
and Jeannette Eybergen persisted in
discussing the resolution, with Mrs. Ey-
bergen stating it did affect the board with
the number from Stratford cut by one in the
Tast election or -trustees. Vincent Young of
ClOcierich Said it was sid. that Stratford
' started out With four triistees . then the
• number. Was ut to three"difd at the last
' election the Uumber,all,otted to Stratford was
two trustees.
Business Superintendent Jack Lane stated
that triAtee representation Was based on
market value assessment for the first time
this year and the determination of trustees
across the two counties is a municipal'
responsibility.

The 'four standing committees were
named with chairman as „follows; building
and property committee; Keith Montgomery

tee, Tim McDonnell, of Gadshill; and
finance and insurance • committee, John
OLeary of Staffa.
Chairmen of the ad hoc committees are:
trustee,clergy liaison committee, Arthur
Haid, Listowel; teacher negotiations com-
mittee, Vincent Young, Goderich early
sGhool leaving committee, Tim McDonnell;
policy and bylaw committee William Kinah-
an, Lucknovy assessment committee, John
0-leary; and program placement review
committee, Lorraine Devereaux, Seaforth for
Huron County and Jeannette Eybergen,
Stratford, for Perth County.
Dan Devlin and Fred Bergsma were
appointed to represent the school board on
the Stratford Public Library Board.
William Kinahan was appointed • to
represent the board on the Huron -Perth
Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases
Association.
The next meeting will be held on January
12.
