The work and resourcefulness of a group
of young girls will save the.Huion board of
education about $1400 and give teachers at
Seaforth Public School some dew inStrUct-
ion aids in the fall.
The girls, Nancy Stoll, Eileen Connolly,
Michele Lauzon and Dianne Wilson worked
at the school in Seaforth and Were one of
four projects implemented by the Huron
board and sponsored ..by the Ontario
government.
They were on a six week term during
which they prepared kitawhich stress basic
learning -skills and re-Setircif fechniOues.
The result was 60 science kits, 50 for
special education, 75 library kits and ten
kindergarten kits.
If the board had purchased the kits it
would have cost more than $1,700, but
workand ingenuity On the part of the girls
kept costa at around $350. Clothes hangers
were welded together, blocks were carved
from wood and a variety of other ideas
were used to complete the kits,
"These , girls are really resourcefuLy
said Jim Watt, co-ordinator for the three
projects." They saved the board of
education a• lot of money by making these
things themselves:"_ „ _
The project ended last Friday.

Catherine Anne Hamather, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Hamather of Hensall and Jason John Brawn, son of
Mr. and Mrs. John Brown of Woodstock were married in
Hensel United Church by Rev. Stanieg-McDonald on July
19 at 3 p.m. The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The maid of honor was Lisa Hamsther of Hensel!. The
bridesmaids were Cheryl O'Brien, Lois Latour and Jade
Brown. The groomsman was Terry Howard and the ushers
were Shane Brown, Stephen Thompson and Tim
Hamather. The organist was May Moffat and the soloist
was Betty Beer. c uests attended from London,

Yielding and Rev. F. Gould on July 5 at 3 p.m. The bride
was given away by her foster father Gordon Blanchard.
The maid of honor was Julia Embliny of Vanastra. The
bridesmaids were JoAnne Van Galen of St. Mary's and
Susan Blanchard of Vanastra. The groomsman was Dave
Durley of St. Mary's and ushers were Ron Blanchard of
Walton and Gary Van Galen of St. Mary's. The organist
was Bruce Barnes and the soloist was Julia Embliny.
After a supper in the Bethel Church basement, gtiests
went to the home of Gordon and Ada Blanchard in
Winthrop. Guests attended from Bornevild, Holland,
Kentwood, Michigan, Kanata, Chesterville, Mississauga,
' Don Mills and Goderich. Following a wedding trip to

planned for Mrs. McGibbon
and her party prior to the
performance. and The Ladies
Guild has planned a special
reception to follow, to which
everyone having tickets for
that evening is invited.

Zurich reeve seeks
Huron warden's job
Reeve Fred Haberer of
Zurich hag announced he will
be running for the top pos-
ition on Huron County coun-
cil.
Haberer said he made ths,
announcement that he will he
seeking the warden's chair at
the July meeting of county
council. /
The owner of Haberer
Concrete Vaults is a nine
year veteran of Zurich coun-
cil, seven of those as reeve.
He said he decided to run
for warden aa it would tie in
nicely with Zurich's 125th
anniversary which takes
place in 1981.
The little boy_was.sent by
his mother to buy a 65 cent
loaf of bread. While the
baker was putting the bread ,
in a bag, the boy noticed that
the loaf looked rather small.
"Isn't that a small loaf for 65
cents?" he asked.
"You'll have less to car-
ry," said the baker.
The boy put 50 cents on
the counter.
"You're 15 cents short,"
observed the baker.
"That's right," replied the
boy. "You'll have less to
count."
