The expectation i4 that the Dominion
Parliament will be called to meet on
November 22nd, and that the session
will last until fuse. It is not thought
that the Govermnent will propose any
sweeping tariff changes. It is no secret
that the Opposition are ransacking the
country in order to find material for
scandal chargee. They have committees
at work in every locality, who report
from time to time to hea..quarters.
A bulletin has been issued by the
Saskatchewan Government with a full
report of the acreage and conditions of
the crops of the province, which shows
that 1,955,673 sores of laud are under
on:tivation this year, while the total
Drop is estimated at 56,227,200 bushels.
There are under wheat 1,336,869 acres,
while the estimated crop is 31,230,000.
This is an increase of 5,000,000 bushels
over last year. The oat acreage is 45,-
243, while ' the orop is°plaoed at 23,419,-
500, an inorease over last year of 4,000,-
000 bushels. The acreage under barley
is 41,473, with an expected yield of
1,089,000 bushels.

The grand aggregate of Canada's
foreign trade for the last fisoal year will
reaoh the enormous sum of 4550,854,246,
a gain of $311,828.886 as compared with
1896, and of $80,704,957 as compared
with the previous year, or 130 per cent
and 17 per cent, respectively. Taking
the trade by countries, the total imports
from Great Britain amounted to $69,-
