tributed $5,000 to the' fund at that time,'.
while_ the province contributed to
bring the initial total to $15,000.
In 1988 the fund was used, for the first
time, when Doug Elliott was provided
with -a $500` grant for wooden rep7acernent
windows at 96 Main, Street. In 1987, a
grant was made to the Town of Seaforth
for the front porch reconstruction. In 1988
a $225 grant was givenfor restoration of
heritage components of the Thompson
Residence at 122 Victoria. Street.
To date $110501.72 (with interest earn-
ed) remains in the .fund.
In order to effectively administer the
"revolving", trust' fund, LACAC felt it
needed to develop guidelines that ad-
dressed the questions .of what type of
work is fundable, funding/loan formulas,
and how the application, review, and ap-
proval process is to operate.
The draft guidelines insist that: all pro-
perties be designated under either Part
IV of Part V of the Ontario Heritage Act;

Seaforth man convicted of sexual assa
A Seaforth man was sentenced to three
years in penitentiary, after being con-
victed of sexual assault on a female
under 14 years of age. The man appeared
before Judge Carter in District Court on
March 5, but because the case involves a
child, his name cannot be printed.
Commenting on the conviction, Seaforth
Bt
Police Chief Hal Claus urged parents not
to become too complacent about their
children, simply because they're living in
a small town.
"It can happen in a small town too,"
be said. "Parents have to take more
responsibility."
