finish season with three wins
started the ball rolling when he flipped the
puck to Jamie McNichol in front of
Wingham's net. McNichol back -handed the
puck and hit the goal post sending it to the
corner where Mike Watt took it from the
Wingham defenceman, got a shot on
Win37ham's net where it spun on its side in
the creases until McNichol, with his long
reach, poked it over the line for Seaforth's
first goal. Jason Henderson assisted on the
second goal when he passed the puck to
Mike Watt, who flipped it over the
Wingham goalie. Mike Watt scored again,
Seaforth's third goal, when he intercepted
a pass at our blue line, skated around
everyone to deke Wingham's netaninder on
the blacker side.
Wingham got on the scoreboard late in
the first period when the winger passed the
puck across the front of Seaforth's net to
the open man who deflected in Wingham's
first goal, Wingharn's second goal came
when goalie Adam Agar stopped a hard
shot from the blue line, but the loose puck
was tipped in, narrowing the score to 3-2
at the end of the second period.
The next playoff game in the 2 out of 3
series is in Seaforth on Tuesday night.
In the first minute of the third period
Joe Murray took a pass from Mike Weber
but Wingham's goalie stopped his shot
right on the line. Defenceman Wayne
Schoonderwoerd finished off the scoring for
Seaforth after digging the puck from a
Wingham winger at our blue line and tak-
ing a hard shot from the point, allowing
Mike Devereaux to pick up the rebound
and pass it over to Schoonderwoerd as he
came rushing in on the open side of
Wingham's net. Final score 4-2.
Belles Ringette team
There is no doubt about it, these 10 girls
on the Belles Ringette team certainly know
how to play Ringette. Over the season they
have only lost one game and are unbeaten
so far.
This team has done quite well consider-
ing they didn't have a goalie and had to
resort in making one out of a winger. They
know their sport as shown by the follow-
ing victories.
On January 30 the girls travelled to St.
Marys. This game occurred during exams,
but thanks to some juniors they were able
to play. They won with an 8-2 victory.
Opening up a new month, February 2,
the girls went to Huron Park and won with
a smile. With two strong lines and one
"learning" goalie they skated circles
around Huron Park. Centerman Lisa
Henderson started the scoring and literal-
ly put a hole through the net. She was

Bisback. Sue Rowcliffe had a change of
pace as she moved up to wing and netted
a goal. The one and only Jill Betties
scored with help from Tracy Bennett.
Centerman Tammy Nash gut one in the
pipes assisted by defenceman Heather
McKercher. Numerous other goals were
scored by Seaforth as Huron Perk only
managed to score two. The final score was
10-2.
To end the week off, Seaforth met Mit-
chell on Sunday. The only game the girls
had ever lost was against the Mitchell
Squad. This game would determine first
place in the league.
The start of the game Id not look too
good as Mitchell scored the Furst goal. Lisa
Henderson put the team at ease minutes
later and scored, with a pass from Tracy
Sills.

Mitchell's Cheryl Hodgert slipped on past
Seaforth's goalie, but Henderson scored
again to save the day. The game see-
sawed back and forth and Hodgert popped
a quick one in the net again. This game
was one of few games which saw Seaforth
on the edge and doing the catching up.
Seaforth dug in and fought back as Tam-
my Nash put one in the corner of the net,
help came from Jill Bettles and Sara
Teall. Mitchell scored two quick goals
while Seaforth's Sheri Kling added one to
end the period.
Lisa Henderson started the team off
again with her third goal. Then Tammy
Nash scored two in a row with a hard
wrist shot, plenty of help came from Bet-
ties. At the eight minute mark Mitchell
scored what was their last goal of the
game. The score was 7-6 for Seaforth, but
with a power line they scored an insurance
goal.
Jill Betties did the honors assisted by
Tammy Nash and Lisa Henderson.
Seaforth kept the ring and killed off the
time to win 8 to 6.
