Lots of Fall Harvest events
The Lucknow Fall Fair
has come and gone
for another year. As
last year, it was a wet one,
but being sturdy stock in
this neck of the woods, the
shows went on. Congratu-
lations to the 2015 Junior
and Senior Ambassadors
and all of the other winners
and competitors who par-
ticipated in the fair in the
many classes and events,
including the Little
Mudder.
Another successful
event this past week was
the sold -out second
annual Bruce Gardens
Harvest Dinner. Not only
did the dinner raise funds
for the Bruce Botanical
Food Gardens, but gave
attendees a chance to
taste the harvest along
with samplings from other
area producers and chefs.
The sponsorship also
included both a silent and
a live auction of donated
items.

An enjoyable fundrais-
ing concert was held at the
newly opened Kingsbridge
Centre. It is hoped that
more performers discover
the amazing acoustics in
the building to book
future concerts to show-
case their talents in the
future.
The Wawanosh 4-H
Proud Pollinators cele-
brated their Achievement
at a butterfly conservatory.
Without the help of polli-
nators, we would not have
either the Botanical Gar-
dens or the fall fairs. Thank
you to the 4-H members
for taking the time to learn
how to assist these natural
farmers now and in the
future.
This past weekend was
the 12th Lucknow Terry
Fox Run. The rain held off
on Sunday to allow the
run to take place in very
pleasant fall weather. A
comment was made dur-
ing the warm-up exercises
that many of the same
people participate in this
run year after year. Some
run to commemorate a
loved one who was
taken by cancer, while
others honour those who
are still fighting this
disease.
September continues to be
a busy one with the Ripley
Fall Fair coming up this
weekend.
Be sure to keep on top of
what is happening
throughout the area by
watching the Coming
Events section. There is
sure to be something to
tickle your fancy or satisfy
your palette.
