The Township of Huron -Kinloss is one of several communities
in the early stages of learning about Adaptive Phased
Management (APM), Canada's plan for the safe, long-term
management of used nuclear fuel. The Nuclear Waste
Management Organization is working collaboratively with the
community to advance preliminary assessment studies.
If you would like to learn about APM, meet NWMO staff, ask
questions or offer your thoughts, please drop in to the NWMO
community office and Learn More Centre in Ripley.

Furrow
The Bruce County Plow-
men's Association is pleased
to announce that the 2015
Bruce County Plowing Match
will take place Friday Sep-
tember 4, 2015 on the farm of
Byron Monk and Joanne
Klein, at the corner of Brant
Concession 10 and Sideroad
25, 4km West of Elmwood.
This year's plowing match
kicks off with Queen of the Fur-
row competition plowing at 9
am. Contestants Sarah Rawn of
Teeswater, Kelsey Ribey of Pais-
ley, Krista Young of Elmwood,
Aleasha Reich of Kincardine,
Hillary Kempers of Paisley, and
Serena Lamont of Ripleywillvie
for the title of the Bruce County
Queen of the Furrow. These six
contestants will also complete
interviews and spend the day
with a panel of three local
judges. The winner of this year's
Queen competition will go on to
represent Bruce County at the
2016 International Plowing
Match held outside of Harriston.
All other plowing at the Match
starts at 10 am, and a farm
equipment demonstration fea-
turing plows begins at 10:15 am.
ABeef BBQ lunch will be served
at noon and the Queen of the
Furrow speeches will com-
mence then, with the 2015
Queen being crowned at 1 pm.
Throughout the day enjoy
watching approximately 50
plowing competitors with all
types of tractor and
horse plows, and visit with
all of our local businesses
that are setting up display's
this year. You are certain to
learn and see something
new at this year's match!
