During the Big Crunch, all staff plus 133 students at LCPS counted down to
simultaneously take a bite out of their apples on October 22, 2015.

The Big Crunch took place in
the auditorium at Lucknow Cen-
tral Public School on October 22,
2015. All 133 students who were at
school on that day, plus all of the
staff, gathered in the auditorium
and eagerly awaited the count-
down to when everyone crunched
into an apple at the same time.
This event is sponsored by
Ontario Student Nutrition Pro-
gram (OSNP), formerly known as
Grey -Bruce Eat and Learn. This is
to celebrate healthy eating at
school and at home.
The apples eaten for the 2015
Big Crunch were purchased from
Farrel's Orchard, Homefront
Acres, near Pine River.
People can support healthy eat-
ing in schools by visiting the site
http://sayyes.studentnutrition-
pledge.com to "take the pledge".
This earns one dollar towards the
breakfast program in their chosen
school.
Grade one student Nolan Moffat unexpectedly lost a tooth when he took a bite
out of his apple at the Big Crunch held October 22, 2015 at LCPS.
