Lead singer of the quartet, Paul Laidlaw was originally from Whitechurch. He formed the group Four Heaven's Sake in the church he currently attends in Lon- don, Chalmers Pesbyterian Church. He credits pianist Kim Poser for helping organ- ize and polish the group with her leadership and musical talents. Laidlaw would like to say thank you to Lucknow Pres- byterian for inviting hem back to the area. "It is like a homecoming, " he states as he prepares for the concert. "The spirit of God is alive and well in Lucknow Presby- terian Church as we cele- brate Him with song." The concert is described by Laidlaw as the opportunity to "praise God with 20 upbeat gospel songs and hymns." From left: Baritone, Jim Harret; tenor, Tom Vannus; bass, Ainsley Marshall; lead, Paul Laidlaw, formerly of Whitechurch; pianist, Kim Poser. The skies opened up with a downpour just as the last of the crowd were arriving for the concert. However, the anticipation was high and spirits did not appear to be dampened by the rain. Smiles abounded as people met with friends and neighbours while waiting their turn to gain admission and find their seats. Rev. Chung made the introduction of Four Heaven's Sake and the music began with many swaying along with the familiar pieces. Although it was a very windy and rainy night, there was a sizeable crowd gathered in Lucknow Presbyterian Church on October 24, 2015 to enjoy the gospel quartet Four Heaven's Sake. si; .
