The Lucknow Sentinel, 2015-11-04, Page 22 Lucknow Sentinel • Wednesday, November 4, 2015 YOUth celebrate Halloween in Dungannon Valerie Gillies Lucknow Sentinel Dungannon was a spooky place to be over the Halloween weekend as the YOUth group camped out at the Seniors Cen- tre Hall. Due to technical difficulties, many of the other buildings in Dungannon came to the rescue, giving full access to their facilities, as well, including churches and the school. On Saturday, October 31, 2015, the YOUth group staged a Spook House for the community at the Seniors Centre Hall. The upstairs was turned into a maze with a bucket challenge at the end where attendees reached into buckets to try to guess what was inside. The basement of the hall was converted into a very dark and scary haunted hospital with many scary patients. Those who braved the dark were given a guided tour through the hospital in search of the one patient who needed to be saved. There were lots of screams, non canned, but the real thing. All sorts of patients approached from all sides from floor, ceil- ing, counters, furniture and even took their places in the washroom. Those on the tour were asked to open closet and washroom doors to look for the patient who needed saving. Following the Spook House, the YOUth group was joined by the community for a potluck dinner at the Ad Hall. A hot meal was enjoyed after the YOUth group formed a circle and sang a song that was part of the theme for their camping weekend entitled "Waves of Oneness": The Dungannon Lions donated candy bags that were given out by the YOUth group as chidren were leaving to begin their trick or treating. There were also two dances over the weekend, the youth dance on the Friday evening and the adult dance on the Saturday. Even the washroom in the haunted hospital in the Spook House in Dungannon on October 31, 2015 had an occupant, portrayed by Oreanne Cardinal, waiting her turn as, almost unseen in the dark, a fully black clad spirit, AKA Austin Coulombe, rocks on the toilet. The walls, floors and furniture were lined with "patients" in the haunted hospital. In the dark, you could not see them, but could hear their moans and calls while being touched, grabbed or poked.
