Carter's Crokinole Report

Eighteen players with vari-
ous talents came together to
shoot it out at Laneys on Sat-
urday for an afternoon of
progressive crokinole. As
there were no new players
attending this makes the
competition much tighter
and the players know
this. No matter what, the
atmosphere is always
friendly everyone accepts
their opponents ability with
respect.
When the day was com-
plete the scores were as fol-
lows. Neil Cook came first on
the men's side with 60, Peter
Carter shot 57 for second,
Clare Kuepfer had 55 for
third and Frances Zettler
claimed forth spot with
48. Leading the twenties
parade was Peter with 50,
Neil had 48, Ken Hawkins
had 33 centres and Carman
Hodginkinson and Clare tied
for fourth with 32.
Helen Zettler had a great
day on the ladies' side
collecting 60 points. Eugenia
Zettler claimed second with
40, Jo -Ann Carter had 39 for
third and Marilyn Thompson
nailed forth with 37. Helen
claimed first in twenties with
42, Jo -Ann had 37, Carol
Cook shot 36 and Marilyn
had 31 centres. Great shoot-
ing ladies. The door prizes
were claimed by Evelyn
Hodgkinson, Al Carter and
Eugenia. Some of the players
were making plans to attend
the Forest City Flickers tour-
nament on March 28 in Lon-
don. Jo -Ann was handing
out entries for the second
annual "games day" tourna-
ment to be held at the Walk-
erton Knights of Columbus
hall for Sat. April 25th when
132 players from as far away
as Parry Sound, Kitchener,
Owen Sound and Penetang
have already entered choos-
ing either bid euchre, solo,
regular euchre or
crokinole. Jo -Ann has
entries. Everyone was
reminded our next date to
play is March 21.

On August 26th 2014 a fire damaged the
sanctuary of the Lucknow Community
Christian Reformed Church.
After many months, and a lot of work,
restoration is complete.
During this time we have been humbled
by the gracious hospitality of the other
churches in the village and the
concern of our community.

Lucknow Tyke Tournament

The 45th Lucknow Tyke
tournament was held on
March 7, 2015.
The 8 teams who partic-
ipated were from Kincar-
dine, Ripley, Goderich,
South Bruce, Blyth/
Brussels, Lucknow and 2
teams from Wingham.
The Championship final
game had Blyth/Brussels
defeating Lucknow 6-2.
The Consoaltion final was
won by Wingham #2, beat-
ing Kincardine by a score
of 6-1.
