Local artist Anita Woods
has been a full time working
artist since 2015, and feels
very fortunate to have found
her niche, as an artist, in
both Ontario, and Florida.
Wood began her art jour-
ney as a purist, using only
traditional transparent
watercolours. For anyone
knowledgeable about water-
colours, this is probably the
most arduous path an artist
could choose. How -ever,
within that strict discipline,
Wood has learned how to
employ colour and light to
produce the magic which
her current art displays.
She loves painting large
pieces, and finding the up
close elements within the

heart of a flower as an ex-
ample. Her skillfully
employed techniques, using
a combination of water
media, bring the picture to a
reality which is stunning.
Wood teaches her art tech-
niques locally over the spring
and summer months, and in
the Dunedin area during the
winter months. She is repre-
sented by galleries in both
Canada and the U.S., and has
won many awards in both
areas for her art. We at the
Goderich Coop Gallery feel
very fortunate to be able to
display Anita Wood's art dur-
ing the month of July.
Anita Wood says "Art is
good for my soul, and I love
my artful journey".
Please join us on Saturday
July 4 from 2 pm to 4 pm for a
welcome reception for Anita
Wood as well as the "birds"
which will be featured in the
gallery for the summer
months. The Goderich Coop
Gallery is located at 54 Court-
house Square, Monday
through Saturday from 10 am
to 5 pm, where you will always
find a member artist on duty.
