Santa was a busy man dur-
ing the last weekend of
November, making several
appearances about the
county.
In Ripley Sunday, Nov. 29,
a spattering of people quietly
congregated along Queen St.
to await the big man's arrival.
Though Ripley's parade
was smaller and more sub-
dued than those held by
other hamlets throughout
the township, it had its own
charm as people followed
Santa as he cruised in the
bed of a pickup to the Ripley
Huron Community Centre
and Arena where it was his
turn to wait as a long line of
excited children queued at
the doors of the arena.
In turn, the children -- and
some of their parents -- sat
upon the jolly man's lap, tell-
ing him what they want for
Christmas.
Calder Liddle, 19 months, is arguably less excited about making
Santa's acquaintance than his siblings Cheyanne, 9, and Cuyler, 7.
