the win was final.
Mitchell started the game with a
quick goal, but it was answered
when Tammy Nash scored unas-
sisted. Tracy Fortune, a new ad-
dition to the team, showed her
talents as she added two more sharp
goals to further Seaforth's lead.
Centre man Lisa Henderson, "He-
ndy" decided to get into the action
as she blew the ring past Mitchell's
goalie. Things got hotter as
Seaforth's powerline did its stuff
and added to the score a goal by
Tammy Nash, assisted by "Hendy"
and defencemen Tracey Sills.
It was then that Mitchell decided
to get into the game as Zehr and
McMann each added a goal. This
was only playdough for Fortune as
she accumulated two more goals to
make it 7 to 3. Help came from the
fabulous "Hendy" and the great
defence player Shelly Nigh.
The second period was a close
call as Mitchell really put the
juniors beat
The Junior ringeue team started
its regular season with success. The
first game was played against
Mitchell on home ice.
Seaforth played well in getting the
ring out of its end and into
Mitchell's net. The final score after
a tough battle was 6 - 4.
Starting off the scoring was Julie
Carter who popped one in, assisted
by Cheryl McLlwain. Jill Betties
added two more great goals from
Jodie Hugill and a shot from the
circle to give Seaforth a3-0lead.
Soon after the second period had
begun Cheryl McLlwain added two
more goals assisted by Julie Carter
and Kim Rau. To end the scoring
streak Robyn Carnochan added one
squeeze on Seaforth as they
sneaked in two more goals. Nash
was quick for the comeback with a
goal assisted by another new comer
from Goderich, Becky Harrison.
"Hendy" got two more goals to
complete a hat trick; help came
from Sheri Kling and Nash.
Mitchell was on a rally as they
scored four more goals, to shorten
Seaforth's lead to one. The last
minute of the game was tense as
Mitchell had numerous shots on net.
They just couldn't score on
Seaforths new goalie Tonya
Glousher also from Goderich.
The game was played fair by both
teams and it was full of excitement.
The final score was 10 - 9. Thanks
to some new players the team is
stronger than ever. Now all the
players can be relieved with a full
time experienced goal tender.
The next game is Sunday,
November 4 in Hensall at 6 p.m.
Mitchell 6-4
