Superintendent of Education John
McCauley suggested the board use
the UNICEF boxes with written
permission from parents.
"Kids look forward to carrying
the boxes. They aren't selling door
to door. The people aren't forced to
donate. The kids feel they are
making a direct contribution to
other children. It's kids helping
kids," said Trustee Debbie

Society has advised Tuckersmith
council it is prepared to give a
donation of $800 towards the res-
toration of the Huron Road Cairn in
Harpurhey.
Council endorsed a resolution
from the City of North York to
inform the federal government and
Prime Minister's office that it is are
strongly opposed to the implemen-
tation of the GST at this time. Mr.
McLachlan pointed out the GST
will mean more paperwork for
Tuckersmith, but the township
would be able to claim 57 per cent
of the GST back on some pur-
chases. He also mentioned Tuck-
ersmith will have to charge GST on
some services supplied by the
township.
