Blair Buuermann didn't get on the

and was an extremely effective

games. Referee Brad Beer handed
out 12 minors and a misconduct to

Atom I hockey team wins 5-2
The Seaforth Atom 1 hockey
team played its fist game on Sun-
day in Lucan. It was an exhibition
game to help prepare the boys for
the regular season games which
begin on Saturday. October 20
against Clinton. Seaforth won its
first contest 5 - 2.
Seaforth jumped into the lead
with a goal early in the first period.
Mark Van Dooren skated the puck
around the net and passed it out to
Bruce Griffin at the blue line. He
shot at the net and it was tipped in
by Scott Van Dooren.
The second period was more
productive with three goals scored.
Derek Smith scored unassisted
when the puck found an opening
between the goalie's skates. Lucan
then scored their first goal of the
game. A couple of minutes later
Scott Henderson passed to Scott
Van Dooren who took a shot. Mark
picked up the rebound and put it in
the net.
Lucan opened the scoring in the
third period. Brandon Nash then
scored unassisted after he weaved
his way through the Lucan players
to the net and popped the puck
upstairs. The final goal of the game
came on a passing play from Derek
Smith to Brandon Nash to Michael
Mullin who put it in the comer. The
final score was Seaforth 5 and
Lucan 2.
The players who make up the
1990 - 91 Seaforth Atom 1 team
are: Pat Coyne, Rob Craig, Josh
Dietz, Bruce Griffin, Scott Hender-
son, Jeremey McNichol, Michael
Mullin, Jered Munro, Ben Murray,
Brandon Nash, Derek Smith, Mark
Van Dooren and Scott Van Dooren.
The goalies are Sean Ludwig and
Charles Robertson.
The players are being coached by
Murray Henderson, assisted by John
Van Dooren, Terry Craig and Ted
Griffin.

has now served four games of a
suspension received in minor hock-
ey last season and is eligible to

to work out their own goaltending
schedule and , as of today, Duskoxy
is achcduled to start against
Mitchell Friday... That game will
feature some drama beyond the
score. Mitchell coach Jack Nairn
and Seaforth's Zimmer have been
working the same turf in the sport
for years. "Zim" coached Mitchell
for 12 years and Nairn, who
coached Exeter last season, was the
coach who replaced Zimmer as
headhoncho with Stratford's Junior
B team in the early 1970s... Cen-
tenaires forward Dietz, who is a
regular little firecracker with some
ty moves and can play the puck
off his skates like a Russian, is
from Mitchell and was cut by the
Hawks in the pre-season...Brian
Taylor of Stratford was a popular
Centenaire with fans and teammates
last season and is now with the
Hawks.

Steve Eckert gobbled up three
points for the Dumpers thanks to
Dale Kennedy for the passes. Bill
popped in two goals with Jim Fin-
layson by his side. Rick Archam-
bault snuck in a superb goal, with a
little help from Dennis Murray.
RAIDERS 1 - EASY RIDERS 6
Ed Van Miltenburg wreaked
havoc on ice as did Martin and Al
Wynja. Assists came from Randy
Lammerant and Jerry Zwep. The
Raiders' lone goal was scored by
Jeff Campbell assisted by Sean
Melady.
PARR LINE 2 - ROYALS 0
Adrian Salverda scored his first
goal for Parr Line with back up
from Steve Kochis and Peter De
Jong. Len Vanwonderon scored off
a great pass by mark Krahn and
Rod Merner. The Royals are
gaining players but no goals.
KNIGHTS 4 - WINTHROP 2
Paul Nyenhuis is on a roll and
scored a goal, assisted by Jim
Nyenhius. Lawrence Vink scored
off a neat pass from Doug Eidt.
Larry Baer also scored. Marks dove
and slapped the ball in the net off a
wrist pass from Joe Vink.
Winthrop's Ross Mitchell got two
goals, with assistance from Dan
McNichol.
In Mens Broomball October 18 at

8:50 p.m. Royals vs Dumpers; 9:40
