The draw will be held at the Grave Diggers le The second meeting of the McKillop 11 Grave Diggers was held at the Stewarts home, Septem- ber 26 at 7:30 p.m. Guest speaker, Mrs. Malone, showed members how to Tie Dye and each person did a sample in either blue or green. Everyone enjoyed it immensely. The topic for this meeting was the native people. Members discussed their culture and beliefs. For example - white represents power and purity. Each person then brought out their individual crafts to work on. Each calf will have a numba that is put into a hat and each child will draw a number to claim their calf. The children will feed and care for their calf and get it ready for show and sale. As a member of the Hensall Calf Club, members are expected to attend two meetings, a Fun Day to meet other members and a class on grooming and clipping in the spring. At the Hensall Spring Fau the Calf Club members show their calves and compete in showmanship and finish for trophies, ribbons and prize money. The calves are then auctioned to the highest bidders. Each person brought an ar- ticle that has been handed down from generation to generation. Life with the settlers was the topic for this meeting. Rug making, quilts, crochet work, etc. were discussed. Some books and atlases about this area were brought to the meeting so we could take a look at them. The next meeting will be held October 17, at 7 p.m. at the Beck- er's. Seaforth WI holds PR speech meeting, hear The Seaforth Women's Institute held their Public Relations Meeting at the Orange Hall. There was a good attendance of members and visitors form Huron South District despite of the very wet night. Viola Lawson welcomed everyone and opened the meeting with the Institute Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. Members were reminded of the Area Convention at Exeter on Thursday. Viola turned the meeting over to Jean Keys P.R.O. Convenor, for the program. Jean introduced Katie Papple, Queen of the Seaforth Fall Fair. Kate represented the W.I. in the Fair Queen competition, and was chosen Queen from a group of 11 girls. She gave the talk she had given at the fair, and Gladys Doig thanked her and presented her with a gift. The next number was a skit by several members "Once upon sometime Street". Gloria Wilbee sang two numbers with her own guitar accompaniment. Readings by Helen MacKenzie, "Womens Institute" and "The Price of a Cow". Viola Lawson and Marion Gordon presented Clarissa Stewart with her 25 year Institute pin. Dorothy Wil- liams was the guest speaker, and told of her trip to Australia, which was very interesting. Thelma Dale thanked her. Gloria sang another song and played her guitar. Annona Cerozier gave the courtesy remarks and the meeting closed by singing 0 Canada and the W.I grace. The lunch committee served a delicious lunch. The draw was made for the guilt which was won by Linda Morrison Egmondville. The $50 grocery voucher was won by Sue Wilson Brucefield. Memorial donations $2,000 A total of $2,000 was turned over to the Huron County Board of Education recently, to be used in establishing a memorial scholarship for Jeanne Saldivar, the 21 -year-old Staffa area resident killed in a two - car collision on August 12. The scholarship will be awarded to a Seaforth District High School student going into nursing. The money, plus an additional $100 to keep flowers on Miss Sal- divar's grave site, was collected through funeral home donations, as well as donations by the Seaforth Community Hospital Nursing and Medical Staff, customers of Ginette's Restaurant and family and friends of Miss Saldivar.
