News. Despite the un -and -oil [dins
we experienced, everyone enjoyed a
busy week here at the Manor.
It all began Monday morning as
our group of 10 faithful nig huukets
met with volunteers Hazel
McGorugle and Eva McCartney.

charms" as we got together for an
afternoon bingo. Lucky winners
were: Marsuentc Shill, Annie Har-
rison, Alvin Dodds, Dave Netzke,
Mabel Handy, Eva Netzke, Cassie
Nicholson, Elmer Bakesy, Dennis
Arney, Jean Elliott and our
"looney" game went to Mary Es-
sex . many thanks to volunteers
Mary Nolan, Doreen Kelly and
Viola Lawson for assisting at the
tables.
Our ladies have the lovelist hands
around! Volunteer Anne Rowland
did manicures Tuesday morning for
all interested ladies. Also, in the
morning Sue Bain - with the help

VAN DEN NEUCKER- Kristin
Rose, daughter of Bob and Barbara
VanDen Neucker, graduated on the
President's Honour Roll from the
Television and Radio Broadcasting
program, Niagara College, on June
9, 1990. Kristin is now employed as
community television producer with
MacLean -Hunter Cable TV in Lon-
don.

and good friend of Sister Mary of
Chatham.
SMITH - Rob and Jennifer Smith
are happy to announce the birth of
their son Matthew Daniel, born on
July 20, 1990 at the Barrie Hospital
weighing 8 lbs. 1 oz. A brother for
Andrew. Proud grandparents are
Bill and Donnie Smith, and Kurt
and Come Stryker.
UNDERWOOD - Dave and Shel-
ley (nee Driscoll) are thrilled to
announce the arrival of their first
child, a boy, Colin David born
Sunday, July 22 at Clinton Public
Hospital weighing 8 lbs. 4 ozs. A
pal for Rocky. Spoiling privileges

Catharines, and Ron and Karen

Tension aoucued as we gahutd
for our Bowling Banquet Tuesday
afternoon. After 17 weeks of
bowler with the Grade 5116 class of
Seaforth Public School, our 26
regular bowlers got together one
last time to receive awards handed
out by President of Resident Coun-
cil and scorekeeper Pat Ryan.
Those with perfect attendance
included: Wilma Brill, Gavin Gem-
mell, Margaret Smile, Dave Netzke
and Margaret Haase.

W od itchy afternoon. Several
attended a Talent Show horned by
Maplewood Manx. Everyone en-
joyed clic afternoon of singing and
a few kicked up that heels and did
some dancing. A round of applause
goes to Maxine Elliott for singing
"How Geat Thou Art" and to Flo
Gardner for singing 'It is No Secret"!
Our Ronan Catholic residents
welcomed our new Priest, Father
"Henry" to the Manor. His
good-hearted sense of humour is a
welcome addition to our home.
Everyone would like to extend a
warm welcome to Our newest
resident Mrs. Mary Mair. Mary
comes to us from our Retirement
Home.
We art deeply saddened by the
loss of Resident Evelyn Cardno.
The mernorics well be cherished by
all those who knew her.

Greetings from Scaforth Manx
Retirement Hone. July is coming to
an end. W hue is our sununer
going.
July has seen a tot of changes
here. We wekome Margart Lane of
Scaforth and enjoyed having Nel
Jouwsma of the Wingham area with
us for a two-week holiday stay. We
hope to see Nel join us on a more
permanet basis in the future. Anna
McLaughlin is in hospital, but
we're happy to hear she is
improving daily. We hope and pray
for a speedy recovery. Mary Mair
has moved downstairs to the nur-
sing home. Though we are sorry lo
see her go, we're sure she will cope
better with the extra nursing care.
Ethel Turrall celebrated her
birthday July 9. Special wedding
wishes went out to Jody Maloney,
one of our night staff, at a shower
given on bfOuday July 16 by soft
and residents. Three of ow
residents, Dick W eatherhead
(groom), Art Hallam (bride) and
(reverend") Norman Turrall gut
together and performed a auot. k
wedding which had everyone in
stitches. Jody's wedding is planned
for July 28 and we're sure she'll
make a much prettier bride.
"Reverend" Norm put on the
finishing touches with his witty
remarks.
We welcome Glenda Feeney who
joins us Thursday mornings to do
hairdressing for our ladies.
