Sunlight Soap is better than
other soaps. but is best when
used in the Sunlight way (follow
directions).
Hard rubbing and boiling are
things of the past in homes
where Sunlight Soap is used as
directed.
Sunlight Soap will not injure
even the daintiest fabric or the
hands, and the clothes will be
perfectly whin, woolens soft
and fluffy.
The reason for this is because
Sunlight Soap is absolutely pure,
contains no injurious chemicals
'-• indeed. nothing but the active,
cleansing, dirr. removing proper -
tics of soap that is nothing but
soap.

When a child shows symptoms of croup
there is no time to experiment with new
remedies, no matter how highly they
may bo rec•t'nnnended. There is one
preparation that can always be depend-

many) ears rind has never been known
to foil, viz: Chamberlain's Cough
Its medy. Mr. M. F. Compton of Mar-

Some idea of the improvement made
to Clinton by the construction of gran.
lithic walks this year, may be gathered
from the fact that 35,530 square fent
were laid in various parts of the town,
at a total cost of $.2833.00, this being at
the rate of 10c per sq. foot. Under the
Local Improvement plan, the payment
for this work is spread over a period of
twenty years, debentures being issued
therefor, and the annual cost per year
for this f.eriod is $280.2:1, which includes
the interest on the whole. ,

gold has been discovered in the county
of Hastings, near Madoc, and gold seek -
ors of all sorts and conditions have join-
ed the rush to fortune just as at the time
of the California and Australian discov-
eries. The Toronto Globe has sent a
speoial correspondent to the spot, who
comments on the singularity of the var-

who have caught the fever. There are
lawyers, doctors, merchants, mechanics,
speculators and some old miners, a
clergyman and e gallant ex•major of one
of Her Majesty's most famous regiments
of the line, all wandering over the rooky
fields, hammer in hand and chemicals in
