home of Mr, Isaac Salkeld and re-
moved the head elf the house, the la-
te Isaac Salkeld, who is survived by
his widow and all his sons and .daus
ghters, who are all married but one,
Miss Mary Salkeld. Mr. Salkeld came
from. Cumberland, near. Carlisle, Eng-
land, coming to Canada at the . age
of fourteen years. I -re vito married
in Goderich to Miss EliZa.beth Tem-
pleton and later removed to Walnut
parm, Dayfield Reed, now the fare)
residence of 1VIr. and Mrs, Isaac Sale
kohl. The deceased gentleman was a
prosperous farmer, deeply imbued wi-
th the love :of agricql ture as are
his sons. • About eleven years ago
Mr, and Mrs. Salkeld retired from
farm life and purchased a pretty vilZa
residence on Keays street where 1VIrs.
Salkeld at present resides, They cel-
ebrated their Golden Wedding at Wal-
nut Farm on alsb--August, 1901, at
which all their sons, daughters and
other relatives ,paid the half century
bride and groom many loving tribut-
es, and now after a, long, faithful life
given to God and his family, he was
called to his rest on Wednesday. ' In
polities Mr. Salkeld Was a Refornier
and in religion a devoted member of
St. George's thumb, He leaves , to
inourft his decease a faithful widow,
'three sons, Messrs, Joseph T., , John
W.„ and 'Saab Salkeld, and tur dau-
ghters, Mesdames John Shapland of
IVIaywood, IL 0,, R, X. Miller and
William Gordon: of St. Helens, Ont.,
and Miss. Mary E. at home. Rev.
Mark Turnbull officiated at the resi-
dente of Mr. Josiiph Salkeld, where
the deceased gentleman with Mrs,
Salkeld Went to visit' a few weeks
before hie death, and rano at Malts
land 'eereiriery. The funeral was Very
large. The pallbearers Were the
grandsons, George, Thomaa •and Gra-
ham Salkelti, Isaac, Robert tuid Jelin
