ALLAN McCA(J, 887-6677 The Walton Women's Institute started their winter euchres on Thursday evening with 34 people in attendance. After many different casseroles were enjoyed, euchre was held. There were eight tables of euchre in play. Prize winners were high lady, Rachel Riehl of Seaforth, low - Annie, Reid, high man, Bill McLennan, Ethel; low, Viola Kirkby (playing as a man). There were three with the same number of lone hands, Mary Humphries, Doreen Hackwell and Jim Smith, AH received a decorated pumpkin donated by Ruth Axtmann. Most zeros on card was won by Sarah Stephenson in a cut with Annie Smith both of Brussels. The next euchre is planned for November 27. There will be no euchre in December. A euchre will be held each month in the New Year until May. Everyohe is welcome at 8 p.m. CHURCH NEWS Sunday evening greeters at Duff's United Church were Ron and Betty McCallum, Ushers for November are Allan Searle, Ian Wilbee and Laverne McClure. Organist is Margery Huether. 'God Forgave" was the sermon given by Irvin Schneider who led the worship service. Rev. Bonnie 'amble preached the anniver- sary service at Union, Ontario. The United Church Women executive meeting is set for Thursday, November 6 at I p.m. at the home of Marilyn McDonald. The Turkey Supper is Wednesday, Novem- ber 5 at the church. PERSONALS Recent weekend guests with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Huether were Mr. and Mrs, Howard Beane of Barrie. John Huether of Guelph was home with his parents this past weekend. Mrs. Nelson Reid attended the wedding of Kim Machan and Brian Mathews in Sarnia on Saturday, returning home on Sunday. BOYS TEAM ENTERTAINED The Walton Pee W ee Boys ball team that won the Tri -County Championship were recently entertained by their coaches Bruce and Pam Clark and assistant coach George Love. The afternoon started off with bowling at Seaforth then returning to the home of Ken McLiwain where they were treated to a pizza supper. The ball team players for the season were: Steve Fritz, Ron Stevenson, Manny Taylor, Paul McLlwain, Tim Nolan. Mrs. Clare Veatch and Mrs. Donald Perrie attended the W .I, Guelph Area Convention at Maryhill recently. Norman Hubley and Idella Regele of Seaforth visited Thursday with Mrs. Terry Ward at Monkton and on Fliday evening visited with Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCallum. Larry and Marsha Nevers also visited at the McCallum home. Helen Byers of Seaforth visited on Sunday with. Mr. andMra. Gordon Byers -at Mitchell. Adrian De Coo of Kitchener visited with his mother Audrey De Coo of Seaforth on Saturday. Mrs. Tem W and has sold her residence at RR 4. Walton and has taken up residence at Monkton where she has purchased a house. We wish her much happiness living in Monkton, Mrs. Stanley Preszcator of Crediton, who visited at the Regele-Hubley home at Seaforth last week, has returned to her home. Mrs. Terry Ward is spending a few dttys at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan McClure and Amy of RR 2. Seaforth. Ministry now accepting hides The W Ingham District is again encour- aging successful moose. deer and bear hunters to donate the hides of their big game this fall. The collection depot will operate at the Wingharn District Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday until December 9 The lower jaws of deer, moose and bear are used by wildlife managers to determine the age of the animals; information that is valuable in managing Ontario's big game species. Each successful hunter who contributes a jaw will receive an attractive crest and a blaze orange hunting cap for each hide contributed, as a token of appreciation for participating in the jaw and hide collection program. The skillful hunter, who donates the hides and the Ministry of Natural Resources together provide a continuing supply of moose, deer and bear hides for the production of quality products and crafts by Ontario's native people.
