theme of the worship service at the Walton
1 unit meeting held W ednesday,
Devotions were opened by Melva Fraser.
Margery Huether wad the organist. Melva
read an article. Mrs, Huether read a poem
followed by prayer: Melva gave Food for
Thought, followed by the offering dedicated.

Viola Kirkby had the topic and told of her
recent tour to Alaska, Jean Bewley showed
pictures of Fairbanks to the Yukon, to Point
Barrel, part of the Arctic Ocean.
Marie Coutts presided for the business.
Audrey Hackwell read minutes and thank you
cards. There were 14 members answered the
roll call, and two guests were (present. Doreen
Hackwell gave the treasurers report.

quilt display and tea afternoon and evening,
October were made for the Anniversary this
coining Sunday at 11 a.m. ,
A turkey supper in November was
discussed with prices the same as last year.
There is to be a bale packed this fall and
articles are to be left in the church basement
between October 10-26. Resignations are to
be in by the end of September.
Invitations were received from Brussels
United Church to their Thankoffering Sep-
tember 28. Blyth U.C.W. Thankoffering
October 5 and Blyth U.C.W. Harvest
Bonanza, October 29-31.
A social half hour with cake and ice cream
provided by hostesses Gloria Love, Marion
Godkin and Doreen Hackwell followed.
WON SEMI-FINALS
The W alton Brewers intermediate men's
ball team won the semi-finals in their division
over Chatsworth on Sunday. They go on to
play W alters Falls Monday evening.
The Pee Wee boys ball team lost their BAIA
game on Sunday to Milverton in the
W.O.A.A. semi-finals. They will play the
next four nights if necessary and weather
permitting.
ABOUT PEOPLE
Mr. and Mrs. Roily Achilles and family
attended the wedding of their grandson
Danny Achilles and Karen Atcheson Friday
evening at the Central United Church,
Stratford. The reception was in Shakespeare.
A large number of friends from this area were
also guests. •
Jerry and Linda Achilles and family called
at the Achilles home Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. Gordon Mitchell and Doug and Mrs.
Emerson Mitchell visted last Thursday with
Mrs. Lillian Beer at Westminster Campus,
London. Lillian returned home Friday and is
spending this week with Luella Mitchell in
Brussels.
George Love Jr. was admitted to Seaforth
Hospital Friday. His many friends hope it
isn't too serious and he is soon back to' his
duties in the village.
Birthday is celebrated by family and friends.

Rev. Jas, Ferguson of Stratford was the
minister in charge of the service in Knox
Presbyterian Church September 7 and 14.
Ten members attended the September
meeting of the Women's Missionary Society
of Knox Presbyterian Church at the home of
Mrs. Clare Veitch. Mrs. Wilfred Strickler led
in the opening with a reading. Mrs. Stewart
Steiss accompanied the hymns on the piano.
A meditation was given by Mrs. Strickler.
Mrs. Jack Knight gave the topic written by
Sherry Theobold.
An invitation was received from W alton to
a quilt display and tea at Duff's Church on
October9. The study book was discussed and
a questionnaire filled in.
The date of the October meeting has been
changed to Tuesday October 7 at 8:15 p.m.
Mrs. Stewart Stevenson will be hostess. Mrs.
Strickler assisted the hostess with lunch.

to be voting delegates to the WOPA in
November. It was decided to give the
delegates $25 each: Brother Clark and

Sarah Tipple of Burlington spent the
weekend with their parents and grandpar-
ents, Mary and Murray Huether.
On Sunday, Mervin and Mae Ritchie,
Blyth, Ken, Debbie and Curtis Ritchie,
W Ingham; Brian, Dianne, Sandra, Sheri and
Sandra's friend Miss Rammelloo, Blyth also
visited. All attended Melville Presbyterian
Church where Rev. Victor Jamieson conduct-
ed the Sacrament of Baptism when Christo-
pher Philip, son of Gary and Joan Ritchie;
Kathryn Aleen, daughter of Peggy and Bill
Aitchinsdn. and Joseph Robert, son of Calvin
and Gail Semple were baptized. A good
crowd was in attendance despite the fact that
Brussels had a very busy weekend.
On Friday night the Arena hosted the
Huron County Pork Barbecue. On Saturday
evening the Fall Fair dance was held and the
