A6 -- THE HURON EXPOSITOR, AUGUST 6, 1986 1 WEDDINGS JORDAN— BENNEWID) Joanne Mary Jordan and Lyle Edward Bennewies were married Saturday, June 21, 1986 at St. Columban Roman Catholic Church by Reverend Andrew Sipek. The bride is the daughter of Bernadette Jordan of Mitchell and the late Peter Jordan and the groom is the son of Mr. and- Mrs. Edward Bennewies of Bornholm. Maid of honor was Pauline Jordan, of Kitchener, sister of the bride, and bridesmaids were Marion Jordan, of Guelph, sister of the bride and Nancy '. Bennewies, of Bornholm, sister of the groom. Best man was John Bennewies, of Bornholm, brother of the groom, and guests were ushered by Paul Bennewies, of Bornholm, and Gary Bennewies of Winnipeg, both brothers of the groom. Following a reception at the Brodhagen Community Centre and a wedding trip to Fern Resort the couple now reside in Port Elgin. (W alter McKenzie photo) -FAMILY BLAKEIi, NFSBIT°r Blake H, Nesbitt, of Hillside Nursing Home, Sebringville and formerly of RR 1, listowel died Friday, July 25, 1986 at the nursing home, He was 86. Born in Elma Township on August 4, 1899 Mr. Nesbitt was the son of the late Henry Nesbitt and Emma Guise. A retired farmer Mr. Nesbitt was a member of Listowel and the Listowel1Masonic Lodge.. HUnited e was also an avid race horse fan. He is survived by four sons, Harry W . Nesbitt, of Stratford; Lionel Nesbitt, of Owen Sound; Donald Nesbitt, of Toronto and Randolph Nesbitt, of Mactier; and one daughter, Vadis (Mrs. Ken Woods) of Mississauga. Also surviving is one sister, Agnes Schade of Seaforth; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral was held at the Robert Trench Funeral Home, Listowel. Rev. Norman Gibson of Central United Church, Stratford officiated. Interment Fairview Cemetery. The Listowel Masonic Lodge held a memorial service at the funeral home as well. Pallbearers were Blake, Stuart, Lincoln, Chris, Kenneth, Randy and Brian Nesbitt. Predeceased by his wife Harriette Mac- Quarrie (Feb. 1986). BENJAMINF ZERMASSE Benjamin Elzer Masse of RR 3 , Zurich died Monday, July 28, 1986 at Victoria Hospital, London. He was 66. He is survived by his wife, the former Grace Jeffrey; his mother, Mrs. Myrtle, of Zurich; sons, Douglas of Goderich; Paul of Hensall' Zurich; Brian.. of London; Dennis of Centralia and Ron and Tom of Exeter; and daughters, Vicki (Mrs. Bill Siemon; of Brodhagen; Phyllis Kellerman of Hensall; Alanna (Mrs. Harvey Adams) of Exeter and Kim, Colleen and Patricia, all at home. Also surviving are brothers, Leonard, of London; Joseph of Calgary; Clare of RR 3, Zurich; and Bill of Dashwood; sisters, Olivia Bedard of Goderich and Jean Guillmette, of London and 11 grandchildren. OBITUARIES He was predeceased by his father, Phillip ass . Friends visited at the Zurich Chapel of Michael P. O'Connor Funeral Homes and a funeral mass was held at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, Father 1J.J. Bennsette officiated. Interment followed in St. Boniface Cemetery. Parish prayers were conducted in the funeral home, followed by a Knights of Columbus Memorial Service under the auspices of Zurich Lodge No. 8863. W ALTER GLEN LAYTON Waltern28,3ton of 1986 at his 3, Clinton died Monday, residence. He y,,July was 68. Mr. Layton is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Strong, of Bit 5, Clinton and a son, Robert Layton, of RR 3, Clinton. Also surviving are a sister, Verna (Mrs. Gordon Hildebrand) of Seaforth and bro- thers, Keith Layton, of RR 5, Clinton and Edward Layton, of Clinton. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Ilene Greer in 1975. Friends were received at the Beattie Funeral Home in Clinton and a funeral service was held with Rev. J.G. Vanslyke officiating. Interment Baird's Cemetery, To her colleagues she was noted for her great spirit and humorous nature, Surviving is a brother Gerald of Tuscon Arizona and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and five brothers. Friends and relatives were received at Mount St. Joseph, Saturday, Auguste where mass of the Christian burial was celebrated by the Chaplain, Reverend Father Dan Rockeleau. Honorary pallbearers 'were Sisters of St. Joseph's. Pallbearers were Louis Doyle, Charles Downey,Leo Mitchell, William Mitchell, Frank Vincent and John Vincent, Interment followed in St. Peter's Ceme- tery, London, Ontario. GERTRUDE W . BEUEBMAN Gertrude W. Beuerman of RR 1, Dublin passed away at Victoria Hospital in London on Thursday, July 31, 1986 in her 78th year. The former Gertrude W ilhelmine Rock she was bora in Logan Township on June 29, 1909, a daughter of the late Rhine Rock and the former Mary Raube. On December 8, 1942, she was married to Norman Goetlieb Beuerman who predeceased her on October 30, 1972. Following their marriage the couple farmed at Lots 5 and 6 Concession 8 of McKillop Township where Mrs. Beuerman 'had resided until her' death. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Stanley Township. Brodhagen. SISTERM. FRANCESCA DOYLE Surviving is one son William and his wife Sister M. Also surviving are four grandchildren She was a graduate of Seaforth Collegiate Sherry, Raube, Ann Marie and Mark Institute and completed her Bachelor of Arts Beuerman. degree at the University of Western Ontario. A BUCHANAN Alfred Edwin Buchanan of Huronview, formerly of Clinton and Tuckersmith Town- ship died on July 27, 1986 at Huronview. He was 93., Mr. Buchanan, a past farmer and life long resident of Huron County was the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Carlisle) Buchan- an. He is survived by his wife Dora Kathleen (Covey), and his six children, Mrs. Jerry (Joyce) Cook of Clinton; Wilfred of Ilderton; Donald of Londesboro; Gordon of Vernon, British Columbia; Kenneth of Williams Lake, British Columbia and Fred of Seaforth. He is also survived by one brother W Ward of Hensall. Mr. Buchanan was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers. The funeral service was held on July 29 at Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rev. David Snihur of Londesboro United Church officiating. Pallbearers for the service were Lawrence Buchanan, Paul Buchanan, William Buchan- an, Erwin Bestard, Jerry Cook and Kenneth Preszcator. Interment was in Baird's Cemetery.
