JOHN TEMPLEMAN- 345-2346 Staffa Women's Institute held a successful dessert euchre recently with over 80 visitors present. Circles two and three were in charge of the afternoon. Following ten games of progressive euchre. prizes were awarded to Mary Fink, Florence Boydes, Ida Pinder, Dorothy Duncan, Marg- aret Smale, Gwen Christie, Velma Burchill, Jean Anderson, Ada• Pethick, Harry Cinch and Robert McLachlan. PUBLIC RELATIONS Joyce Vivian hosted the Public Relations meeting of the Staffa Women's Institute at her home in Mitchell on Wednesday. Eleven members and one visitor were present. Perth South District President, Helen Shute, of Kirkton, was guest speaker. She gave her reflections and memories of the F.W.I.C. convention held last year in London. She also brought pictures she had taken during her term as District President. Mrs. Shute was introduced by Florence McPhail and thanked by Joyce Vivian. Mrs. McPhail presided and opened with a poem on decorations. Mrs. Shute assisted Roberta Templeman in a discussion on the C. W .I. F. recommenda- tions which were printed in the Home and Country. Doris Miller reported on a recent district executive meeting at Kirkton, saying that the District Annual would be held in Kirkton on Tuesday, May 20 with Staffa Women's Institute responsible for the registration. The theme is Women in Todays World. She also reported Perth South donated 56 guilts to the Southwestern childrens hospital in London. The three Perth Districts are publishing a cook book for the International Plowing Match in 1988 and branch members are asked to hand in their recipes at the District Annual. The president, Kay Smale presided for the business. Members were reminded of the Daffodil Tea to be held in Main Street United Church on Saturday, Apr115 from 2-4 p.m. A microwave cooking course will also be held in St. John's United Church on April 10 and the Continued on page A15 Bayfield residents make visit to Walton HATS OFF — Not quite) At Seaforth Public School Thursday the idea was to have hats on.
